These are much nicer than the pair I bought a few years ago from Midway. The are exactly the same as S&W ships on the new Classic Model 29.

Grips look good, and are much wider than the factory grips on my JM revolver. However, for the price you would think they would come with the grip screw.

There's a reason they're on clearance. Don't expect them to be real target grips. They are skinny and skimpy. I bought a set and returned right away. Stay away!

Do not expect these grips to replicate the target grips of old. Functionally, these grips are significantly narrower than the original target grips and do not give the shooter a solid grip during use. They must be more for display than actual use.I purchased these to replace the original grips on my 629 Mountain Gun. What a mistake.

As a follow-up to my prior post, and after receiving and returning my 3rd pair of grips, these indeed must be 2nds. The 3rd and final pair have damage to the panels as shipped. I do not recommend this product.

I couldn't rate these grips at 5 stars because the pair I received had a thick, gloss finish that had a few dust particles trapped in it. Also the little diamond around the screw had some of this thick coating flaking off on the upper and lower points. I used a "tri-grit" sanding stick, commonly used in plastic model kit construction to sand down and polish the areas where the gloss finish had dust trapped in it and also to blend and polish the chipped areas. After about 30 minutes of careful work, they looked pretty good. They fit my 629 Classic well enough and even with the problems noted I'm glad I bought them. To me they feel great in the hand and look way better than the factory rubber Hogue.

I have received two of these conversion grips, and am waiting on the 2nd exchange. Both pairs have had noticeable flaws, including mismatched panels and noticeable marks/dings in the wood. They honestly appear to be factory seconds.

These grips make my round butt 625 look like a classic square butt. But the classic thumb shelf on the left side is not present, perhaps to make the grips ambidextrous. Fit to the frame is good, but not on par with factory grips on my 1970s K frames. I wish there was a somewhat smaller version of this grip. Wood is very nice. The two locking pins really make the grips lock together solidly.

Fit and finish of these grips are top notch. They fit my model 625 perfectly and look much nicer than the factory rubber grips. The two extra "pins" help secure this large grip much better than just the frame pin and screw.
