I decided in my RRA ...

I decided in my RRA upgrade to go from a single point to a 2 point sling set up. My rifle has the UTG quad handguard and the Troy slid in place as snug as possible. There was a slight hesitation at the onset and some wiggle and shove quickly positioned the mount. The throughbolt was then inserted and locked this unit tight. When the push button is inserted rotation is limited to keep your sling from acting like a rubber band on the old balsa wood airplanes. The sling can pivot from roughly 11 o'clock to 2 o'clock and goes vertical at its midpoint, or, it can be set to rotate from 2 o'clock to 5 o'clock giving a horizontal at its midpoint. Entire unit is extremely low profile and all business in its appearance. I plan mating the Spec Ops Master Blaster sling which comes with built in male inserts. This ones a keeper !

It's remarkable how many problems this has considering how simple it is. First off, "bolts on rail" is not exactly true, it must be slid the whole way down the rail to where you want it. No problem right? Wrong. It's so tight it gets stuck on every single ridge of the rail and I had to actually hammer it at one point to get it to move, causing cosmetic damage to my rail. Second, at least with some swivels it does not permit full 360 degree movement and sticks if you try to turn it more than maybe 30 degrees from where you started. It almost seems like they designed it to do this but if so they should tell you up front that it does this, so I would have known not to buy it. Definitely the worst AR-15 product I've ever purchased of any kind.

This QD sling adapter ...

This QD sling adapter lets you move your sling attachment where ever you need it. MY RRA LAR-8's stock sling attachment was too far out, this put it right where my hand naturally sits and allows the sling to do it's job. The QD lets me pop the sling off the rifle without having to take the sling off my arm, saving me a lot of time getting into and out of position using a loop sling.
