I have previously reviewed this scope, and all of my comments still hold true. I wanted to add my results from this summer. I had access to a 300 yard range (I still want to try longer shots), and with my LR-308, heavy barrel DPMS, this scope allowed me to shoot at 300, and back to 100yds by just returning the knobs to my zero setting, and reset the knobs back out to 300 yards, with my established settings. I did this several times, and the point of impact was exactly the same. Great repeatability. Also, I said that I had to not use the supplied rings (too high). The rings I used are TPS 30700, which keeps the scope much lower. My cheek can stay on the stock. This combination allows rapid acquistion, and I think so much of this scope, I have ordered another one today, for another AR rifle.

For a scope costing nearly $500 I think the glass should be a little better. On 16 power it is very good. Above that resolution and contrast is only so-so. Don't know why but the optics do seem to get clearer as the light level goes down. Turrets are a little spongy but work fine. Tracking is excellent as is the illumination system. The mildot-bar is a definite plus. It also comes with several dollars worth of "extras", sunshade, good flip up lens caps and nice rings. Mine is on a Savage 10BA .308 and its large size fits right in with this rifle. I think it is a good scope for the money.

Excellent quality, but with some slight hazyness starting to appear at 20X to 25X. Tracking is close enough to be right on when doing the square, single direction adjustments, the real small error (less than 1/4 inch) at 200 yards could just be me as I did it only once.

Does what my Leupold does, just cheaper. I would say it does about 95% of what the Leupold does for 50% of the cost . . . you do the math. For serious work I leave the Leupold home and take the NF.

This is my second review of this scope. Have upgraded my opinion to 4 stars. Again glass is a little hazy above 16 power and adjustment clicks feel a little spongy, but they work very good. My scope is on an accurate Savage 10BAS in .308 (5/8" at 200 yds). One problem is because of the coarse 1/10 mil dot adjustments I have to hold slightly off the target to hit dead center. If I readjust one click instead the groups are slightly off in that direction. This is a nice problem to have and shows the tracking on the scope is nearly perfect. Also if you dial in several mils, that is where the groups hit and it returns back to zero every time. The locking rings on the turrets and the parallax adjustment have worked perfect. Have used the illumination a few times and it is right on. The reticle is a pleasure to use. The power adjustment ring is still nice and smooth. Based on its performance and reasonable price it is a great scope and its massive size does look good on this big black rifle.

Too big to heavy. rings that come with scope are 2 high mounted it on a savage 111 in 338 lapua it dwarfed the gun. Windage turret would bind up wasted 100 bucks of ammo trying to sight it in . Trust me dont waste your time get a leupold thats what Im doing !!!!!!

Very good quality, especially for the price. This is much clearer and brighter than a Bushnell I have with the same power range (though it was a bit cheaper).The only con I noticed is that the threads for the sunshade are extremely fine and seem like they would be easy to cross thread (I don't have space bc of a BUIS)Not a con, but worth knowing if you're not aware of the mechanics of optics. The larger diameter will result in a narrower field of view (a smaller range of distances will be in focus at once). I expected this, but I was impressed how different it was from a 40mm. I actually enjoy this because getting the target in focus gives me a rough range approximation from the focus knob before milling.

The scope came with rings, but they are excessively high for a DPMS LR308, 24 inch barrel. For my rifle I obtained low, steel, Mil-STD, and the scope set just at a perfect height. The scope is large, and with the included lens shade, it just fits. I had to position it forward to be able to cycle the action. I could not use the included lense caps. I purchased a set of Butler Creek lense caps, and they fit correctly. The combination with an already heavy rifle is very heavy, but it is only used for match shooting.
