The Caldwell Portable Target Stand is sturdy, yet lightweight and portable. Reasonably priced, practical and convenient. The included 24" x 24" corrugated, plastic backing provides a weather-resistant, long lasting, easily replaceable surface on which to attach your targets. With its formed and welded 5/16" steel frame, the Caldwell Target Stand easily sticks into the hardest ground. Stand comes complete, packaged with an assortment of 10 Caldwell Orange Peel Targets.

Worked well for the first 2 trips to the range. On the 3rd trip, one of the welds broke. I plan to re-weld the broken spot and strengthen the rest of the welds, should be a dandy little target stand then. Had I inspected it more closely when I got it, I probably would've saved myself the headache and strengthened the welds before I ever took it out.

Weld broke the first time ...

Weld broke the first time I switched over targets in the holder. Welded arm back on and haven't had any more problems.

Compared to other target ...

Compared to other target stands on the market this is one of the better ones. I bought two. After about 20 times to the range the right leg came off. Welded it back and good to go. Second one made about 30 trips and I shot the bottom horizonal brace off. It held together. Read in one of the reivews about setting in on top of a saw horse. That works great. Our range requires the target be set so your bullets hit the burm. I set two of these targets at 100 yards and fill them up with Caldwell self adhesive targets and I am good to go. I am visiting site today to order two more stands. I use persentation poster board from Hobby Lobby to replace backing. Seem to work fine. Happy shooting!

For my purposes this target stand is ideal. I wanted portability and simplicity. I transport it in the box it shipped in with targets; it's a neat package. I use it specifically to sight in flintlock rifles at close range (13 yards). The plastic backing is better than cardboard because it is water resistant. I have not had it long enough to comment on durability. But I see no reason for it not to last, unless I try pounding it into hard ground or I hit one of the metal rods, which is a possible consequence, of course, of throwing lead down range when sighting in.

This is a great, sturdy and mobile stand. It is probably the best stand I've used. Too bad the second time I used it the stand took a direct hit from my .50AE Desert Eagle, blowing the stand apart. I guess that was my fault for being a bad shot.

I got this product and the second time I used it, one of the metal uprights broke at the weld as I was removing the stand from the original box. Now I need to use tape or clips to hold the white board in place on one side. I was disappointed in the quality, since I like most Caldwell products, but at this price, it's still a fair deal.

Bought this to use on an out-of-town shoot. It's light-weight, durable and affordable. The plastic backerboard held up to quite a bit of shot from my Taurus Judge. Looks like crap but it's still usable. Definate plus. I'm sure you can even fashion together cardboard backerboards for replacements.I did not have any difficulty inserting or removing it from the ground. Just keep in mind the size of the target+stand before you buy so you know what to expect.

This target stand is easy to use and appears to be well built. The target backing will last quite a while and is cheap to replace when the time comes. As long as the ground is not rock hard it is pretty easy to push the legs of this target stand into the ground. Fortunately I have not shot it by accident, but other reviews indicate that it can take hits from fairly powerful rounds. I have tried several types of target stands and this one is my favorite thusfar.

A fine product that works ...

A fine product that works as advertised with one exception. The legs will stick only into the softest ground unless you grind down to points. A chisel point works better than a pencil point, and you will still need to hammer them in if the ground is hard. Welds can be fragile (I have several, and some are better than others in this regard). Overall, one of the simplest, lightest, best target stands I've used.

I've had no problems with ...

I've had no problems with the welds or getting the stand into the ground (just step on it). I've also drilled holes in an old sawhorse so I can mount the targets higher if desired. I've found it to be very durable. I've put 2000+ rounds through the plastic backing and it still has plenty of life left in it! A great product for the shooter.

This is a well constructed target holder. I have had mine for about 3 years now and have not replaced the back board yet. I have shot the frame many times including once with a .50 AE at the bottom of the frame. It bent some but did not break. I have had problems getting it into some well packed ground but I don't think that is the fault of the construction. It is difficult to push anything into well pack ground. My only complaint is I wish it was taller.
