I bought a set in 45 Colt ...

I bought a set in 45 Colt and have used them quite a bit in my revolver's. Probably close to one thousand snaps and still going strong. Have not used them in my lever action rifle and probably will not as it is a little rough on brass shells. Even so, I am afraid that it would tear the rim off. I would recommend though for anyone wanting dry-fire revolver practice.

Very poor QC; only 5 of 12 of these I ordered were usable - the remainder had the red part of the case head so set back it would bind the cylinder in my SAA....

I ran a set of these through my Taurus 450 to slick up all bearing surfaces before experimentation with a Wolff spring change-out. After 3,000 dry-fires, one Tipton Snap Cap cracked and another presented a hairline crack. Through-out this dry-fire-break-in session, I noticed brass particles accumulating from the wear of many dry-fires. As far as I am concerned, this was a positive indication that the caps were doing the intended job of softening stress on the firing pin/spring combo. I replaced the two, continued to dry-fire and have now made spring adjustments. These caps did their job, nobody lives forever (EXCEPT MY MOTHER-IN-LAW). I have had also favorable experience with the TIPTON .22 Long Rifle Snap Caps.
