Functional but far from ...

Functional but far from the best design available. Aligning the scope is somewhat of a pain b/c the screws that fasten the rings to the rail are also responsible for tightening the rings around the scope. Once the bottom of the base is secured to the rails, only the top screws can be used to increase the tension on the scope tube. The more you tighten the top screws, the lower they push the scope down...not too much of a problem except that I had to push my 50 mm scope as far forward as possible to keep the bell housing off the barrel. Maybe it's just a matter of getting accustomed to how they install but I think the Tikka rings are a much better design. I just didn't care for the aluminum and the ones that came w/my rifle were too low for a 50mm scope. I'm switching to Talley base and ring mount solution.

These are excellent rings. 50mm and some 40mm scopes will need the high rings. Clamps directly to the receiver dovetail. Front ring has a locking pin.

Warne rings are the best ...

Warne rings are the best for the Tikka. The rifles come with ugly aluminum cheap junk ring and strip easy with the over size screws in them. I have 2 Tikka's. One I put Leupold bases and rings. Then found Warne far better as you can position the rings on the grooved rail where you need it for adjusting eye relief. The Warne rings also position the scope lower to the bore then athe medium Leupold rings. I also use the regular Warne rings on my other rifles. The are simply the best.

The factory alloy rings ...

The factory alloy rings suplied with my Tikka were junk. The medium size mounted my Leupold VX-2 40mm scope as low as possible to the bore. Rock solid mounting, excellent fit and finish, and more than durable enough for such a light rifle in .338 Win Mag. This is the only ring a Tikka owner should use!

When I purchased my new Tikka Rifle, it came with scope rings. I felt the factory rings were of inferior quality and couldn't be depended on. At a Tikka message board I frequent, the Warne rings were highly regarded. There is a lot of metal in these rings, and when the going gets tough, I know I can depend on them to maintain their zero.
