Since these were so cheap, I ordered a apair for my '60's Government Model in case something happened to my Ahrends. Once I put them on, I never put the other ones back on. These give a retro look, with a modern grippyness and tactical feel. Right away, I ordered another pair in case anything happens to these. Be aware, these are retro. No ambi saferty, and they are a little thinner than standard. My big hands love them.

Quality and looks much higher than it's $9.99 price. I spent alot of money on my colt commander tricking it out and modifying it and I didn't want to spend that much money on grips so I bought these. I am very satisfied, especially for the low price. They look clean, simple, purposeful, and sporty. It's checkered and has the prancing horse logo which makes it look really sweet and not cheap or bland, the big horse logo complements the other horse on the slide!

Recently got these grips for my Colt Series 70. They're a little thinner than some rubber stocks I've seen, but they're well made and quite durable. They're not cut for an ambi thumb safety, which for me isn't an issue, but it's probably worth mentioning. These grips are patterned after/inspired by pre-series 70 Colt commercial grips. They looked pretty much like this except they were brown colored plastic. These grips are probably really meant a for bare bones basic 1911. Especially on a Colt Govt, it really gives it that "strictly business" look which I really like. I like wood grips a lot on a 1911. But why not use something as durable, comfortable and simple these grips and at a fraction of the price of wood grips? Sometimes it's more about ease of use and durability than it is about looks in my opinion. Best of all, these are a genuine Colt factory part. I should also note, the price here is almost a steal. If you order these direct from Colt, they're well more than twice the price plus shipping. It's a no-brainer to buy them here! If you want a very basic, durable, no frills 1911 grip for your Colt or any 1911, these are a very good choice and an excellent value.

Great looking grips. The only thing that the description doesn't mention that this set of grips will not fit newer models with ambidextrous safety.
