Item appears to be well made and seems like it will last, although I have used it only once. I mounted this sight on a Ruger 10/22. Mounting was quite easy as was battery installation. Using it for the first time, I was impressed. Simple to zero (using the supplied tool) would be an understatement. Having a choice of red or green reticle is a plus considering varying light conditions. Shooting in bright sunlight, the green worked best. I set it on the #2 intensity and could pick up the reticle with no difficulty. It held its zero throughout the session. Good product for the price.

The reticle selector on the back of this sight was frozen. I was unable to move it far enough to either side to select the reticles on the far ends. The most I could get was a half moon reticle showing from the reticle on the far right (it is supposed to be a full circle). The far left reticle consisted of the dot (what it was supposed to be) but half of the reticle next to it on the right also showed. The selector wouldn't move far enough to show just the dot by itself. The product had a slip of paper stating that it was checked by someone. This was an obvious, easily found defect that should have been caught and shows a lack of attention to quality control.

This sight was awesome. I zero'd it in and could center a dime at 25 yrds. Loved it. Then the cushion spacer in front of base became loose at that was all she wrote. I had about 120 rounds of fun before it called it quits. Too bad cause I would have liked to have kept it going.

Did not last even one year. I was originally happy with this sight. But after only 8 months of moderate use, the lens popped out due to recoil. I guess you get what you pay for. May be OK for a pellet rifle or a .22LR, but nothing with any level of recoil.

Liked the price and have a few BSA scopes on other rifles...bought this to go in a Ruger MKII target Comp. for NRA bulls-eye shooting...mounted easy...zeroed easy as well...after about 2 weeks of league shooting the groups suddenly wandered 4 to 5 inches high right for no reason...I re mounted and re zeroed and all was well until the last match of the season the glass fell out in the middle of a relay...I found the glass and the plastic bezel and re set and used crazy glue to hold bezel in and that was fine didn't even need to re zero. a few months later when league shooting started up again I noticed that during relays the sight would blink on and off...sometimes requiring a tap to get it to turn back on...this was "ok" during slow fire strings but would prove a disaster during timed or rapid fire strings...so I bit the bullet and bought an UltraDot...I would recommend this sight for fun and plinking...but not for serious shooting or competition

I have rated this sight before (2 times), I just bought 2 more, one for my AK and one for my Mini 30. I was expecting the quality sight that I had gotten in the past, but it seems that BAS has changed a few things, the battery cover is now cheap plastic and once you loosen the setscrew the top half of the sight move around quite a bit for a sight. The sight movement makes it a pain to Zero since you don't know how much the reticle has move until you tighten the set screw, its kind of a hit and miss and a real pain. The front screw to mount the sight to your rail is nice and strong but the rear short screw is real soft metal and easily rounds off in the inside with the Allen wrench supplied. The sight is also much lighter than the older ones, so I don't know yet how well they will holdup compared to the older ones which were great. Quality seems to be the first to suffer when you improve something. I will use these sights until they go bad then I will switch to something better and something that is made in the USA.

Very disapointing. First one had two images, due to Midway being outstanding with returns, got new one right away. Have had it on an AR, a MKIII and on a Glock 34. Dont know how many times I have had to resight the guns. Took it off the Glock, wouldn't hold zero. Bought an EOTech for the AR, and am going with one for Glock too. Final call? Don't waste your money

Somewhat bad luck here. All was well except the battery. Even when turned off, the battery went dead. Everytime. Gave up. Also, the crappy battery installation system broke the first time a battery was changed.

Great sight, especially considering the price. This sight is near the peek of the quality/cost curve. Only drawbacks are: (1) Indoor, woods, or overcast day only. Bright sun glare washes out the hologram. (2) They could not have conceived of a more clumsy way for turning it on. I would not recommend for home-defense because it would take an impractical amount of training before I would trust myself activating it in an emergency. I wish the on/off was as well conceived as the nice big thumb switch for selecting the reticle.

Disappointing. I bought this to see how I'd like a red dot on my MKIII. It was great for the first time I took it out. Hard to sight in, but worked well. In fact, it proved to me how accurate this gun was, as I was able to lay down some great .5-1" 25 yard groups. I took it out again this morning after having taken it off the gun. When I put it back on, the sight had retained its zero perfectly. The first two groups were right on. When I shot the third, the group was everywhere. All of a sudden, on group 10 or 12 with the groups measuring 5-7 inches, the lens simply fell out. I read other reviews saying this had happened, but they seemed like they were mostly with centerfire rifles. This was mounted to a very heavy MKIII Hunter with a 6 7/8" barrel. I can't fathom how any gun could be much less punishing to a sight than that gun. On a positive note, this assured me I love red dots so I have no issue dropping the money for an UltraDot.

I'm using this on my 10/22 and when picking a sight, I was overwhelmed. So out on a whim, I pick this sight and I'm really happy with it. I sighted it in at 50 yards. About 500 rounds later, it held zero. For the pirce, I'm very happy.

Purchased June 2010 for use on a 22/45 for Bullseye Shooting. Approx. 1000 rounds so far and has worked perfect. Stayed zeroed in despite some rough handling. Have had to adjust sight just once after removing and remounting on pistol.
