The UTG Deluxe Brass Catcher features a hook and loop band that goes around the handguard or free float tube and a bendable wire frame that holds the mesh bag up to the ejection port. With this brass catcher, you also have the option of keeping the bag closed or opening it to allow spent rounds to fall in a neat pile instead of flying wherever the gun ejects them to. The zipper makes this bag easy to empty if you choose to keep it closed while shooting. The UTG Deluxe Brass Catcher is great for those who reload and want to save their brass.

I have 3 of these and they all work very well, 2 are this make with the nylon mesh and the other is a solid nylon bag, None have had any problem with hot brass melting to them. I have AR's in several calibers with some having quite expensive brass, (i.e. 50 Beowulf, 6.5 Grendal, 6.8 SPC 9mm, .45 ACP 7.62x39 5.45x39 etc...) These Brass Catchers not only keep me from hitting others on the range with my hot brass but also keep my expensive brass on my table.!The only problem I have encountered is that with the bag closed after a few rounds build up inside the bag it begins to sag down and rotate away from the ejection port causing the next cases to get caught on it's way out, This is easily fixed by simply leaving the bottom of the bag unzipped, Doing this will leave your brass sitting on your shooting bench so it can be easily picked up for reloading. When I am using one of my AR's for a hunting application I then zip the bag up since while I am out hunting I am not likely to be firing more than 1 or 2 rounds anyway, with it zipped it will hold around 10 to 15 rounds of .50 Beowulf brass before it begans to sag.All in all a excellent product, I prefer this type over the A2 handle or A3 Flat Top type as they can be used on any style or caliber of AR10, AR15 (with or without rails) as well as various other types of rifles including a Super Vepr, Romak3, Krinkov's, AK's and variants without any problem or modifacation to the gun or brass catcher

I'll get the bad out of the way first. The flexible webbing at the mouth of the brass catcher can close up, causing brass to fall back into the action, or dribble out between the firearm and the mouth of the brass catcher. You can try to fix it with wire or some kind of plastic sheet, but you shouldn't have to. On the good side, I have used it on a couple different AR-15 uppers (9mm flat-top, .22LR carry handle), and a 10/22. I've heard of it being used on SWD M11/9s, and it should work on almost any firearm. It's nice to be able to bring home most of your brass, other shooters on the line appreciate not being pelted by hot brass, and it helps avoid a lot of clean-up when your done shooting. Overall, it is nice to have, just poorly designed.

easy to use and works pretty well. I don't lose as much brass this way. Helps if you flex the bag out of its flat, shipping state initially, so the brass can actually fall into the bag rather than stay at the top by the bolt.

Had to make a frame out of a wire coat hanger then sewed it into the opening. this keeps the mouth open so it won't close up and force jamms. i empty it after 10-20 rounds.

Bought this for my 223 ar15.Brass catcher more like jammer.Seemed like evey other shot was getting caught in the action. After many tries to get it to fuction I ended up giveing it to another shooter at the range.

The only reason I did not give these a 5th star is because they don't make them for my Garand or M1 Carbine. I wish I had bought one of these years ago. To think of all the time I have wasted picking up 223 brass, I mean like thousands of rounds. I bought 3 for my 4 AR's and plan to get one more on my next order. I just leave mine open at the zipper end and let the brass fall. The folks shooting around you appreciate them too. I think I may have sold 3 or 4 of these for Midway while I was at the range last Thur. I loaned one to one of my shooting buddies and he swears that it is the greatist thing he ever added to the AR. I had a hard time getting it back from him. Good deal for the price.

what a bargain. well made and well engineered. fits both of my ar platforms and even fits my hi-point 9mm carbine as a bonus. i havent had any problems so far even after using it with my slide fire stock at 640 cyclical rounds per minute. it will hold about 110 rounds of fired brass before it starts to get full and installs fast with no modification. 5 stars for value and reliability. would reccomend to anyone who polices their ar platform brass.

Don't waste your money on ...

Don't waste your money on this product. I tried using it on my Stag A2 style rifle and it was practically useless. The mouth of the bag is too narrow to consistently catch the brass. And it caused 2 stoppages (stovepipes) on an AR that has never jammed in over 800 rounds. I gave up after a couple of tries and just picked up my brass as usual.

I have used other brands but none work as well as these do...I have several now and would buy again. Empties fly right into the bag fine and go to the bottom. Thanks UTG!
