Works great on my suppressed rifle that uses direct impingement gas system, which is the only rifle that needs this item. Just a note in case you haven't thought this through, If you have a gas piston rifle then this handle won't make any difference.

I purchased this because I've been told by others that it would really help getting "gassed" in the face when shooting suppressed. The blowback was horrible when shooting with the can on and this reduced 80-85% of the blowback. No more burning eyes or coughing while shooting. I've used this in two different Panther Arms uppers for these results. I think some uppers based on the cuts could still allow gas through. This redirects it to the left following the channel that has been cut into the bottom. Very well made too!

This charging handle is a definite plus for anyone that has a short barrel or is using high pressure reloads, and a must have when running a suppressor. Average shooters who aren't using one of those platforms is probably not getting much gas in their face in the first place and would not need.

Will not work in 9MM or ...

Will not work in 9MM or 22LR conversions, I bought it to stop blow back in a 22 conversion. Won't allow bolt to recoil or chamber shells. Same on the Rock River 9MM. Worked in 223 R.R. only this is 1 gun out of 7. Wear safety glasses and save your money!

Got a lot of gas up my nose when shooting. Put handle in and problem disappeared plus larger latch helps when gripping handle one-handed. Won't snag like other tactical latches.

This is a very well-constructed charging handle. Far better quality than the mil-spec variety. I like the extra material in the finger pull area. Does not eliminate gas blow back but does reduce it. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money but the quality of the workmanship and beefed up nature is worth it. I would buy again for an AR-15 and definitely plan to purchase one for my AR-10.

Does not ELIMINATE gas in your face, but it sure did REDUCE it for me on a short barrel (10.5") AR-15. I agree, it does not work well with .22LR conversion - but three is not much gas with the .22LR anyway.
