The Redding Big Boss Single Stage Reloading Press is made of heavy duty cast iron frame with a large opening and long ram stroke to make sizing today's popular magnum cartridges a breeze. The offset frame makes it easier to seat bullets and the ball grip handle is easy to hold onto for effortless operation. Dies and shellholder sold separately.

Update 8-2-2012After using the press thru @ 2000 rounds, I have found some flaws:1. The spent primer ejection system is horrible. Sending spent primers out the side of the ram is a horrible idea at best. I may be making a catch device for this design flaw. Dirty2. During initial use, the ram was so tight that it almost felt as if it had seized. I cleaned it well and applied a very light oil, cleaned, light oil, then left sit overnight. In the morning the problem was gone and has not returned since.Overall I am happy with the press. The weakness's in the spent primer collection method and past ram issue are outweighed by the overall quality of this press.

I just started reloading after a 20 plus year hiatus. I had a RockChucker way back in the day. After reading how they are now made in china, I decided to buy a Made in America brand. Fit and finish of this press is outstanding. The ram is very tight but easily movable. The ram stroke is perfect. This press is a gem.

I bought this press because my older Rock Chucker II makes such a dang mess with primers. The spents dont land in the tray but maybe half the time. Also the tray was big and hard to maneuver on and off the press without spilling primers everywhere. I bought this over the Rock Chucker supreme because the spent primer setup is way better than the new RC Supreme not to mention fit and finish on the BB is way better RCBS used to make fine presses, I own a ton of RCBS stuff but there press cannot compete with the BB in fitment, Finish, or overall usefulness. I got mine at another store because shipping to Alaska is awful for heavy stuff and I got it cheaper than listed on here too but I think you will like this press way better than a Lee and quite a bit better than the Horn or RCBS too.

A bulletproof press. I had an old (60's) Pacific set for small primers and a RCBS Jr 2 set for large, so I retired the Pacific, set the RCBS for small and the BB for large. It is smooth and strong but will let a primer escape once in awhile, but thats minor. You wiil not be disapointed with this press. The extra room compared to the Jr 2 is very handy. Also the ability to use the Hornady lock-N-load die changing system is great also. Just get the parts from Midway and you will be set for life.

This is a strong, smooth, well made press. And the large offset opening allows plenty of room to maneuver. The only downside is that the primer collection could be better, it catches about 90-95% of primers. But at least it is easy to remove the primer catcher to throw spent primers away without them flying all over the floor. This really isn't an issue for me though, since I use a Lee Challenger press, which has an excellent spent primer disposal method, with a universal decapper to deprime my cases before I clean them anyway. Then I use the much stronger and more powerful Big Boss for the rest of the reloading process. I cannot comment on the priming system as I have not used it. I do all of my priming with a hand priming tool. I bought this press with the intention that it would be the last single stage press that I would ever need to buy. I believe that I chose the right press. This unit is a pleasure to use. I also use the Hornady Lock N Load bushing system on this press. It makes die changes amazingly quick and easy, and really adds to the convenience of this already great press.

An excellent press IMO. The larger opening is great for 7mm Rem Mag and .338 Win Mag.Strong powerful links makes full length sizing an easy chore. Reforming 45 ACP to 400 Corbon is nearly effortless. Highly recommended and will make its owner very happy!. Built to last at least a lifetime!

I purchased this press after retiring my old "Rock Chucker" press of 30 years. The larger opening is more condusive to the larger calibers and I also purchased the primer feed kit which worked flawlessly. I opted this press over the new RCBS Rock Chucker because I didn't want to feed primers manually or purchase another type of primer seating system. I also like the offset window to better view/load rounds. Frame has plenty of leverage to size and case form that you will ever require. It's a super press for the money.

If you need a really strong press, the Redding is a good choice. IMO, it stands among the top premium brands like RCBS Rock chucker, Hornady, etc. It's strong like a CH Champ press but priced lower! I use mine for 460 Remington and 280 Rem plus some pistol cases 45ACP and 454 Casull. No problems at all!

You can't go wrong with this press. It's built very well and will last beyond its owner. The linkage is heavy duty and makes light work of full length sizing magnum cases like 300 Wby Mag and 416 Rigby. It might be a bit more expensive than a Rock chucker, but its worth it. Lastly, the best thing is that you can use the Hornady Lock N Load system on this press. Just buy the Hornady LNL conversion bushing, replace the existing one on the press and you can use the LNL system. I have all my Hornady & RCBS dies on LNL. I didn't like the Hornady press since its made of Aluminum. But with this Redding all steel press and LNL, I'm the happiest reloader in the state.
