I love this thing! Just a ...

I love this thing! Just a little filing to make it fit my norinco sks. Fits tight and stays tight. Rails made it easy to mount scope and laser. As mentioned previously very nice finish compared to others I have seen.

It looks sweet with some ...

It looks sweet with some optics on it. Nice finish and over all it is great. But the biggest thing i noticed with it was that there were no relief holes in the back and you've got to drill it yourself. If you don't, it will not cycle right and it will jam all the time. But after drilling it works great.

This is a well built unit ...

This is a well built unit with excellent finish on all surfaces. I mounted this on a Yugo SKS with minor filing on the two front tabs, which is fairly easy. The unit fits securely on the receiver as it is but the two lower screws on each side will give additional bracing so that lateral movements of the cover are kept to minimum. The rails, one on top and two on the sides, are built together on one platform and is attached to the cover via two bolts. Once attached to the lower receiver cover, it looks strong and sturdy. The reason I did not give it 5 stars rating is because of two desing flaws: (1) When you pull the charger handle (on the bolt carrier) with the palm of your hand facing downward, your right thumb will rub against the sharp side rail on the right (I skin my thumb that way). I don't see how anyone can place any equipment on the right side rail because they will rub (skin) your right hand. I also tried to pull the charging handle with the palm of my hand hand facing up but, my hand still end up hitting the equipment mounted there. So for practical purposes, the right side rail is useless unless you are left handed. To fix this, I plan to cut off the right side rail to avoid future cuts to my hand. (2) Eventhough the product description says that you can see the iron sights through the lower space of the mount, in reality you can only see a portion of the object that you are targeting because the upper section of the object is partially blocked by the top rail. Overall, unless you are willing to cut off the right side rail, you would be better off buying another make with no side rails on the right. Other than the above design flaws, the unit is a quality product and fits well on the receiver.

Nice product, well made. ...

Nice product, well made. This is a one-size-fits-all item, and you have to remember how many versions of the SKS there are. I had to do a little filing to make it fit, both on the front prongs and inside the rear hole. Not a big problem if you have the tools and a little patience. You could do much worse than to buy this item, and the price makes it especially hard to beat.

It is a great product. A problem you might have if you have a Russian SKS is filing down the front a little and inside so the bolt dosen't lock up.

Fit and finish was great, ...

Fit and finish was great, and the functionality was perfect. The only thing that went wrong at all was I place the tactical light on the right too cloie to the bolt. My fault, but watch out when using the right rail for bolt clearance.
