I had high hopes for this ...

I had high hopes for this kit, but was very disappointed. The first thing I noticed was that the main springs were significantly longer than the stock unit. Nevertheless, I installed the 12 lb. spring, which instantly made the trigger pull heavier and grittier. Not liking that, I tried the 10 lb. spring, but as previous reviewers noted, got unreliable ignition. Returned to MidwayUSA for a refund.

I received and installed ...

I received and installed this kit today for my 6in GP100. I went with the 12# hammer spring and 10# trigger reset spring after reading some of the other reviews. I hesitated giving it 5 stars simply because I have not fired the gun yet to gauge any improved accuracy, but my first impressions were that manually cocking the hammer was MUCH smoother and single action pull is a lot crisper. the double action does seem smoother but it's difficult to tell how much w/o a direct comparison. Overall, I'm very pleased w/ the product and service from Midway. Just be sure to look at the schematic in the manual FIRST if you have never detail stripped your gun (first time for me) because Rugers disassembly instructions abruptly stopped and left me hangin', which led me to take down the entire trigger assembly (def. not needed) before realizing where the trigger reset spring was located. A 2-3 hour hunt for the "pawl plunger/spring" ensued in my apartment... Overall a great upgrade to da/sa that is simple to install (if you know what you are doing), performs well, and cheap to boot!

I installed the 10lb ...

I installed the 10lb spring in the trigger, and the 9lb spring in the hammer. I know it sounds backwards but it's real slick now. Hope I didn't screw up...

I recommend filing the ...

I recommend filing the sides of the hammer strut. Once the strut is smooth, replace just the hammer spring and assemble. If youre not satisfied with the results then replace the trigger spring. I found that I only needed to file the strut and replace with 10lb spring with great results.

These springs will ...

These springs will improve your DA & SA trigger pull. Installation is very easy. Mainspring is for DA and trigger rebound springs is for SA. I had light primer strike using 10lb. MS on CCI primers, so I use 12lb. MS and 10lb. TRS. Using 8lb. TRS will have the longest trigger reset.

Gives a "slick as glass" ...

Gives a "slick as glass" single and double action trigger pull! If you think the GP shoots good right out of the box, install a set of these springs and see what a dramatic improvement it provides. Takes only a few minutes to install. I do recommend the 12lb. hammer spring as the 10lb. spring may give unreliable ignition with handloads.

An easy mod to make your ...

An easy mod to make your GP100 into a better, smoother shooter. I used the 12lb hammer and 10lb trigger springs in my 6" GP100 and have had no problems whatsoever. Used the 10lb Hammer and 8lb trigger springs in my 4" GP100 and get a rare Fail to Fire using my reloads. But boy is it smooth! I will be ordering another set so I can use the 12 and 10!
