The Promag Archangel Nomad rifle stock system will transform your Ruger 10/22 into a folding stock tactical rifle with the looks of a G36. Constructed of carbon fiber reinforced polymer for light weight and durability. The drop-in fit requires no gunsmithing. The Nomad stock is 36 3/4" overall with the stock extended and 28 3/8" with the stock folded. Included sights are adjustable for windage and elevation. An extended magazine release and an extended bolt release are included with the stock system. The handguard includes an accessory rail to attach vertical grips and other rail mounted devices. Includes one 25-round polymer magazine.

Note:

The aluminum flash hider and dummy supressor will only work with the standard sporter contour barrels, and will not work with the aftermarket bull barrels. The stock system will work with bull barrels.
This stock will work with any factory or aftermarket magazine. The Promag extended magazine is shaped like a G36 magazine to complete the look of the stock, but is not required.

Look and feel is EXCELLENT. Early 90's model 10/22 dropped right in with minimal effort and no modification to stock or rifle (aside from the mag release which is a part of the kit). Fit is TIGHT in the stock... took polymer mallet to get it completely in (that's a good thing). Feels wonderful to shoot... way better than the 19th century ergonomics the Ruger was born with. I think it actually IMPROVED the accuracy! More testing is required but the groups were tighter than before... perhaps it's the ergonomics or that the barrel free-floats now, not sure. Mag looks great and functions 100%. Hope it holds up to wear because I have a feeling I'm gonna be sending a LOT of lead downrange with this now! Only issues are the mag will not seat fully unless the bolt is held back/open but that's not much of an issue personally. Also, that may be my rifle and the worn mag hold plunger and spring which is on the repair list. The other issue is a slight gap between the upper and lower half. It's caused by the tight fit and I've noticed it closed slightly between when I installed it and now (2 days) so it might be a "settle in" issue only.

I purchased this kit and am pleased with the stock portion. It is a nice fit with a cool look, just like the picture! However.... The magazine is another story. It does not fit well in the stock and causes failure to feeds every 3-4 rounds. The rounds get stuck in the magazine tube and when they do escape the tube into the feed lips, they are not always tilted up to proper height for feeding. I feel that promag could have seriously developed a more effective magazine. I am very dissapointed and would hope promag should address this issue IMMEDIATELY, it is really unacceptable. You can use other 10/22 mages which is nice, but then lose the true look of the G36. This review does not reflect my experience with MidwasUSA as their service is impecible and absolutely amazing. I love MIDWAYUSA!!!!!!!

Great looking stock.....

Just got the stock today and got it all put together. It was really a tight fit. This was a nice suprise. most drop in kits that I have seen are loose and not well made, not with this kit. Some people have said that it is too tight and does not fit right but with a little elbow grease it goes together just fine. Be careful when you remove the ruger front and rear sights because I destroyed them punching them out. THis is fine because I am planning to put a Bull barrel on it so I didn't care how I go them out. The Mag. fits just fine and I have not seen any reason why it would not work just fine. I have not tacken it to the range yet and fired it yet but I don't for see any feed problems. The only thing that I could see that I don't like about it is that the mag is all plastic with no metal lips at the top. If you fire it to fast and long it might melt. over all I am very pleased with the kit

Looks really great, functions really bad

I bought this kit, and after watching a youtube video on how to assemble and functionality after, had no problems assembling the kit. HOWEVER, when it came time to shoot, i found out the mag is junk. I got either jammed rounds where the mag wouldn't feed them up, OR, didn't put them at the correct angle to feed, and so i lost probably 50 damaged bullets b/c of it. Other than that, not so bad. But really, a gun that doesn't shoot is well, worth nothing I will try factory Ruger mags to see if that makes a difference. Hopefully it does.

Awesome stock kit

This thing looks sinister, especially with the dummy suppressor on it. Assembly is easy, though disassembly to clean is not. I don't recommend taking it apart as the possibility to strip out holes is too great. Many of the holes are drilled and tapped right into the plastic. I would have liked a metal inserts instead. The overall fit and feel is excellent. The sights are good, and any 5/8" rail mount device will work. There are two little storage compartments as well. The mags are junk. They are all plastic and jam. I tossed my mag in the trash and glued the 10 round rotary mag on top of the sleeve. It looks good and works better.

Okay so I did not use the instructions to assemble this. I youtubed it and it went together pretty easily. You do have to give it a good whack or two to get the receiver into the stock. And you do have to use reasonably good ammo and break in the mag with a couple hundred rounds, but then... I've got a great looking 22 and it works great.

No issues with Midway. I am puzzled by all the positive reviews on this product. I bought my Ruger 10/22 brand new and never even fired it before buying the Promag kit. I couldn't figure out how to assemble it... (just a reflection of having no mechanical ability). I took it to two different gun nut friends and neither could get it right. I then spent $50 to have a gunsmith assemble it. I was told it would fire but not with the magazine cover on. Ok, fine. I finally took it shooting and didn't use the mag cover. Of course, it really loses the look. It still jammed continuously and all you have to do is wiggle the mag and you can pull it right out without pushing the release. Like another reviewer said, "It does not fit well in the stock and causes failure to feed every 3-4 rounds. The rounds get stuck in the magazine tube and when they do escape the tube into the feed lips, they are not always tilted up to proper height for feeding." I fault myself for waiting too long to assemble it and not saving the receipt. I would have sent it back. I should have just bought a Mossberg .22. It looks cool without the hassle of the conversion kit. The Ruger's great, the Archangel... well, I know I'm in the minority but the magazine set up is junk.

I like the kit, I like the look. This stock is an eye catcher and feels great to shoot. It is easy to forget at the end of the day it is still a 10/22. Much more enjoyable to carry and fire then any other stock I have tried both factory and aftermarket. The only drawback I have is that the manufacturer chose to mold in a non functional but very visible selector switch. Having none at all would be preferable or at lease one that will move like the real thing to add to the look/illusion of the stock. The solid molded fake selector switch unfortunately brings on the image of a toy when all else looks very real and cool. The picture in the ad, even when enlarged does not show this fake selector. Having said all this I am still very pleased with the overall appearance and function of this stock. I may later invest in another and if black is still the only color available I may paint it desert tan or OD green for something different.

I see, test, and review firearms and accessories for a living and I am not easily impressed by a "dress-up" kit for a .22 rifle. I received a Nomad kit last month for review and put it together with one of my Ruger 10-22 rifles with a Magnum Research carbon fiber 16.1" barrel. The install was easy and the finished product looked amazing. It's plastic but then, so is the real thing. Modern guns are built with polymers to reduce weight and manufacturing costs. Overall fit and finish is much better than most other similar products and functionality was flawless. Shooting .22s is all about fun and the Nomad raises the fun level dramatically. It drew a crowd at the range and comments ran 95% positive, with the most common being, "How much and where can I get one?" It is a hefty piece but the fun factor makes it just an after thought. I installed a UTG Laser/light combo and a front pistol grip and the Nomad is now my wife's home defense carbine. The best conversion kit I've ever tested!

Love the stock, much higher quality than I expected and very realistic. The dummy supressor and muzzle brake that are included are also a very nice touch. I have had none of the problems with the magazine mentioned before other than you have to open the bolt to lock the magazine in place before you break the mag in. Besides that my magazine works great. I do not like the sights on it, they were the only part that seemed cheap to me, they aren't terrible but not to my liking.

The quality of the kit ...

The quality of the kit really surprised me. I didn't know what to expect, but the stock is very well made and fit nicely on my Ruger SR-22 rifle. The included flash suppressor, while not horrible, is a little cheesy. So I would recommend used either a 10/22 FS or a SR-22 which comes with a factory flash suppressor. Install was very easy with the included instructions and everything fit very nicely. I've read quite a bit about the Archangel magazine-related issues, but both magazines have performed flawlessly for me over about 300 rounds.

This kit is great. Yes it's 99% polymer but it is very solid and made well. It's a breeze to put together and it accepts larger target/bull/.920 barrels. I have a Tactical Solutions threaded barrel on mine. The only down side is the clip. I know Archangel said they were re-working the clip and it was going to be better but it's not. Mine would fail to feed about every 5-6 bullets. Sometimes I could shoot through a whole clip but that's rare. I have a couple of the 25-round Ruger clips and they are rock solid, no issues at all. Even with the not so awesome clip I still think this kit is awesome and worth every penny.
