This tool makes installation of a thumb safety on a 1911 much easier by depressing the safety lock plunger. Perfect for the home or professional gunsmith.

Technical Information

Notes:
  • Tool is designed to depress the thumb safety plunger to allow easier installation of the thumb safety.
  • End of the tool has a depression to hold the end of the plunger.
  • Hold the tool against the frame, depress the plunger, insert the thumb safety. As the safety is being pushed into place, pull the tool out from between the frame and the thumb safety.
  • Tool has a 3 1/8" plastic handle and a 1 3/4" steel stem.
  • Care should be taken with 1911s that have aluminum or coated frames, as the steel stem on the tool may leave marks on the aluminum and/or coating.
