I must submit a 2nd review to give Barska credit where credit is due. Since 12/7/11 I have put another 500 rounds through the rifle and the scope is still holding zero with minor adjustments for different brands of ammo. Last night I decided to try and get it focused, again. I loosened the locking ring and turned the occular bell all the way in. I then placed a small sticker on the occular bell (for reference) and started turning counter-clockwise to focus. The sticker was a big help. What I thought were full turns back in December turned out to be less than half turns. Anyway, after 6 full turns of the occular bell (way more than I turned first time around) I noticed the reticle began to come into focus. Another 4 full turns and the reticle and image are as clear and sharp as can be. I can't wait to get back out there and fire this thing with glasses. Sorry Barska for bad rap. This is a great little scope!!!

A decent scope for the ...

A decent scope for the price. Solid construction, clear optics and a clean, sharp reticle when not wearing eyeglasses. More about that in a minute. I mounted the Plinker on my old, Browning (Belgium) T-Bolt 22. I found the supplied rings to be more than adequate. Didn't even have to bore sight. Right out of the box I was landing lead on the target. A few clicks for windage and elevation and I was shooting 1" groups at 50 yds with multiple overlapping bulls. At 100 yds the groups got a little bigger (more likely due to shooter error and cheap ammo) but were consistently within the 9 and 10 rings. I have since put about 500 rounds through the gun and the scope is still holding zero. The only thing I can find wrong with this scope is I cannot wear my prescription glasses while shooting. With glasses on the reticle is VERY blurry. The manual states to turn the eyepiece a few turns left or right and the reticle should become clear. I turned the eyepiece all the way in then so far out I thought it was going to come off the scope. I cannot get the reticle to focus. I only shoot from a bench so it isn't an issue to switch to a pair of plain shooting glasses. I would never be able to use this scope for hunting.

Put this scope on my 10/22. I then heard something loose on my rifle. Turns out one of the lenses was loose and since it had been mounted, I could not send it back. Inspect it closely prior to installing.

Very good scope, especially for $40. Fit perfectly and worked well with my Marlin 795. Only complaint is that I never could focus it to as crisp of an image as I would have liked. That could have been me, though. If not for that, I would have given it 5 stars.

This scope far exceeds the quality and capabilities of most other rimfire scopes while preserving low price mark. I do not know why anyone would compare it to a Leupold which costs 4+ times more. I can shoot with this scope from 100 yards and see where the hole is, so there is no need to drag around binoculars. Then I can just turn the adjuster to 3x and see the targets 5 yards away. The flexibility and quality of this scope make it my top recommendation for .22LR rifles.

Great scope for the price. Plenty of light, sharp enough sight pictures. Doesn't compare to high end leupold, but I didn't expect it to. For a .22 at 50-100 yards, great sight. Only thing I don't like is the relief is very narrow. If you get off by 1/2" or so you lose the entire sight picture. I replaced the rings with weaver mount high style for the M&P 15-22 from Smith & Wesson. Scope interferes with comfortably pulled slide back if you have short fingers. I have long fingers, not an issue for me on that gun but I could see it being an annoying problem for others on that particular .22.

.22 scopes I've owned in the past have just been a notch above open sights. I'll give the Barska a couple notches for its clarity and sight adjustment accuracy. I didn't give it 5 stars only because I haven't had it long enough to really field test it, but it's the best .22 scope I've owned to date barring high end target models.

Very Satisfied! Installed on .22WMR Semi-Auto. Laser bore sighted and on paper 1st shot - 8" out 2 o'clock @ 80 yds. No problem tweaking in to 10x. Optics very clear. Dove tail rings that came with the scope more than adequate for rimfire shooting.Well worth the the price.
