Overall, a good stock. Looks great and handles much better than the factory stock. Installation was easy except the barrel band was a bit hard to get on. The handguard fits loose which mars the finish a little bit but I mounted a scope on it and folded the rear sight down and the handguard doesn't move anymore.

Installation was easy. The fit was really snug - until the main screw to attach to the action was fully tightened down, the action was not seated properly. In contrast, the handguard is very loose. Once installed, the ergonomics of the stock are acceptable. With the tight fit, aftermarket magazines from Butler Creek, ProMag, and Ramline all fit poorly. The parallel walls to the rifle axis extending from the action's magazine well were too narrow for these magazines, and you need to work them back and forth to seat them. Overall, a decent value that provides your 10/22 with a pretty cool look. The pistol grip is comfortable and provides greater control.

Could not get the ...

Could not get the receiver into the stock. Measured with calipers and found the stock was .025 too narrow. Sent it back.

No problem installing ...

No problem installing like some reports. Handguard seems to fit tight. Barrel clamp does take three hands to put on. The overall finish is a little rough and would be nicer if it had a rubberized coating, then I'd give it a 5 star instead of a 4.

I own two of these stocks ...

I own two of these stocks with one being 20 years old and showing little wear & tear.Some minor over molded material may be required to be shaved off with a utility knife but the Ruger 10/22 trigger and barrel assembly fits snug and does not rattle. I had no problems with an oversized charging handle nor extended magazine release fit or function.Very good stock.

This stock required major ...

This stock required major fitting to work..tightening the action screw doesnt do it...The ergonomics are excellent though and works great with my scope (Nikon 4-32-Low rings-Ruger base)Not disappointed but expect Choate to do better...

I found this stock well ...

I found this stock well worth the price and it greatly improved the handling and feel of my Ruger 10/22. I did find it needed some minor fitting (Filing a bit of material from the area in front of the magazine well to get the action to seat all the way in) but this is to be expected with after market stocks. The hand guard did fit tightly and with no movement (Front sight folded down as I installed a Williams receiver sight). I did replace the forward sling swivel with a detachable swivel stud and installed one under the butt stock as well, which I found to be much better. All in all I am very pleased with this stock and recommend it. Just realize a bit of fitting will likely be needed.

I bought this stock about ...

I bought this stock about a week ago, I chose it because it gave my 10/22 a great look for a decent price. As stated, the barrel band is very hard to install, you would be wise to have a buddy help you with that step. Mine was also very tight fitting, the action as well as magazines to the magazine well, but just tightening the action screw down seemed to do the trick for me. I am not extremely concerned for this gun with accuracy, it still groups 1" at 25 yards with a factory carbine barrel. Good enough for a fun little plinker and the stock made the gun much more ergonomic. I would reccomend for sure.

If this stock didn't look ...

If this stock didn't look cool and feel good once properly fitted I wouldn't even give it 3 stars. This stock is not accurately molded for the receiver. Mine took quite a bit of retooling with a dremel in the rear and front areas of the receiver well to get an accurate fit and for the takedown screw to line up with the stock/barrel. I also had to remove a small amount of material from the magazine area to get a smooth magazine release. The barrel band is a bad design with the clamp system it uses. They should have made it similar to the stock band with a screw. My upper hand guard fit well, no issues there. Once fitted this stock gave my 10/22 a very cool look and feel, and combined with my M16 style Tech-Sights and the compensator it makes a great AR type training rifle.

I bought this stock ...

I bought this stock because I wanted a pistol grip stock for my 10/22 when I compete in tactical matches. Installation was easy & required no fitting. Other than needing an extra set of hands to install the barrel band, I have no complaints.
