Bought this along with the value line sear. I guess they were good for a "value". However, I expected the sear engagement surfaces to come pre-stoned/polished. My factory Remington R1 trigger was smoother. I suppose this is a good replacement for a mil-spec part, but I expected more from Wilson.

Very cost-effective upgrade

Dropped right into an RIA frame, also installed Wilson value sear with it. Works with stock grip safety, installing beavertail not required in this case with these parts. Much improved trigger pull, no smoothing or fitting needed.

This trigger dropped right in my 70 year old U.S. Government model with no fitting. I also installed the value line hammer and the drop in grip safety at the same time with no fitting on either part. The combination left me with a very crisp trigger pull.

You'll need a beavertail ...

You'll need a beavertail grip because this hammer will strike the stock grip safety before coming to full cock(which is a no-brain upgrade anways).Dropped right in my Norinco 1911 and looks so much better than the original. You can't go wrong with this hammer.

I wrote a review for the Wilson Grip Safety, 298B, where I mentioned this hammer and sear. These parts, along with a Wilson extended thumb safety, were all part of a overall project to upgrade my very basic SA Champion GI. After some fitting of all parts except the hammer and sear, which were drop-in, I am very pleased with the results. I bought the hammer to fit the grip safety and I have always been told when you replace the hammer you should replace the sear. In this case, using the Wilson Value Line 314C sear, that proved to be excellent advise. The trigger pull on the factory hammer and sear was, at best, horrible. The difference with this new hammer and sear was stunning. VERY clean and crisp break with no creep. After 300 plus rounds of every type of .45 ammo I have, including my reloads, the gun functioned without one failure and is much more fun to shoot. It is now my everyday carry'n-around gun. Very pleased overall and would have no problem using these parts again if this project should present itself again with another 1911.

Awsome Hammer for the price! I was fixing up a Springfield GI, got this with the Wilson drop in beavertail. looks 100 times better then the spur style ugly GI setup. I went ahead and got the Wilson Combat strut to go with the hammer, worked perfectly, highly recommended for a budget build, Would I put this on a 1,000 dollar pistol? Prob not. GI style 1911s are the PERFECT canadate for this.
