Product Information

This 2-Piece OverMolded Handguard for the AK-47 or AK-74 is made from rubber-covered fiberglass which offers the ultimate combination of comfort and durability. Modular design includes both railed and smooth top cover as well as 3 short sections of picatinny rail that can be attached to the sides and bottom of the lower portion for accessories. Complete set allows a truly customizable handguard.

I got this for an ak74. ...

I got this for an ak74. All the pieces except the top handguard fit ,the 2 handguards that came with the kit are too short. On the AK74 the top handguard doesn't fit onto the gas tube. My AK74 is a Tantal. The instruction make no mention of the AK74 or any type issues. This is going back.

Awesome! Just got it ...

Awesome! Just got it yesterday and I love it. Put it on my wasr and yes there is some play that needed a little shimming, but that's to be expected from an ak variant. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a newer tactical look and still keeping the classic ak feel.

I bought this set to put ...

I bought this set to put on a Saiga 308. I replaced the Saiga gas tube with a standard AK tube and bought a bolt on lower retaining bracket. First, these things are not what I would call rubber covered. They are molded plastic and not the slightest bit rubberized and the set does not contain any kind of heat shielding. The top piece went into my gas tube, but I had to put the tube in a vise and rotate the top cover into place. It fits pretty snugly, which is good, but it was way too much effort to get it installed. The lower piece would not go over my barrel without some serious removing of material. This may be because I have a Saiga 308 and not a 7.62x39. Once fitted, it was what I paid for, a cheap black plastic grip set.

Purchased the Houge AK ...

Purchased the Houge AK Handguard, test fit it on my MAK-90 & SA-93 and they appear to need only minor fitting, ended up installing on my Maddi with no fitting. Looks good, feels good, and says US Made to help confirm 922 compliance. I plan to buy two more.

I bought this for a ...

I bought this for a build-up project on my wifes Hungarian (FEG) SA85M AK-47. It fits! Very well made. Nice heat shield; whole orders of magnitude better than the OG wood furniture. No mods required. I just had to press down hard on the back end of the handguard and tap the gas tube locking lever down at the same time to get the upper/gas tube to lock into place. It's on there nice and solid. Next is to stick a red dot on top of this thing, hand it back to my wife and make sure to stay on her good side. Done!

I have been pulling my ...

I have been pulling my hair out for the past few weeks on a handguard and pistol grip set up on my new AK. I was leaning towards the Tapco but never really liked the "looks" of them. I had then thought of the Hogue set up. Having run the Hogue on my 10/22 made me really think about it....took a few seconds. LOL All I can say is I am **** glad I bought the handguards and pistol grip. They really provide great traction in both hands and gives me something to hold onto. One thing I noticed was the top handguard was a tad loose and then after I had it all put back together the top handguard was tight. THEN I read the instructions....The top handguard is designed to use the OEM handguard clip! I tore it all down and installed it to find it was real hard to twist it back onto the gas tube. Now, it's rock solid! I won't really use the rails nor the top rail(don't see any real use for that) I just love having the rubber overmold to have a good grip. The pistol grip is the Cats Meow for the AK also!

Great product! I got the ...

Great product! I got the second run of this product and it fit tight out of the box, I have heard others say they were loose but this one has 2 tabs on the back that were raised. I had to file a little off the front because it was on the tight side for my rifle. So it seems the loose fitting issues have been addressed in the new run.Great price, USA made product, Great quality, there are no cons! You can also configure it with rails or not in any combo you want, hands down the best on the market.

Great product, with a great feel for the rubber bottom handguard. Yes, the lower was a little loose. Problem solved by a little piece of duct tape around the front end mounting edge. Now it is rock solid tight. Right now these are back ordered on every website you can find. I am waiting for my second one.

Went on with ease, looks ...

Went on with ease, looks nice. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the foregrip was less snug on my Romanian WASR 10 than I care for...standard CAI stuff, but the wood grip was solid and did not move at all. I don't believe it will be a detriment to the operation...just a mild annoyance. But, being this is an AK pattern rifle, tolerances being what they are, your mileage may vary. Bottom line, I would recommend these to a friend.
