Received my Kleen-Bore ...

Received my Kleen-Bore PocKit Pistol Cleaning Kit in only two days. Ordering was seamless and shipping was fast.Upon assembly I found that the joint on the two piece rod was poorly aligned, exposing a ridge that I do not want running through my firearms. The fit of the rod section into the handle is extremely loose, allowing more than one inch of deflection at the jag/bore mop. The "muzzle guard" slides freely on the rod sections (poorly aligned joint notwithstanding). When disassembling the product I found that I could not remove the rod section from the handle without using an excessive amount of force. The plastic locking mechanism in the handle was not deflecting sufficiently to release the rod assembly. I will be returning this product.

Boy am I glad I never saw ...

Boy am I glad I never saw the original since it might have changed my opinion. I absolutely love both of mine. It's compact, fits my range bag. and works great. Too bad Midway doesn't carry the .22 model because I need one of those also. The other brands I've seen aren't as nice as this.

I can no longer recommend ...

I can no longer recommend the PocKit since they've made changes to it, no doubt to save money. First, the cleaning rod snaps into the handle now, not screws together. This makes it less durable and reliable. Also, the rods have a rough spot where they join together making the plastic bore guide catch at the joint. It's not a smooth motion going down the rod. The only remedy is to slightly bore out the guide with a drill. I have both the "old" style, which was excellent, and have bought 2 recently of this "new" style and have been disappointed. Too bad, it was a great product before these "improvements".
