Well, I thought I'd save a few bucks and buy one of these over a Harris model. I installed this and a rear monopod on my Savage Weather Warrior in 300 Ultra Mag. At first I was happy I did: the only problem was the mount screw would back out between shots so I fixed that with some Lock Tite. I was even able to shoot some dynamite groups with factory ammo. Shortly after that, good groups were harder to shoot, then with one fateful shot, one of the bipod legs just flew completely off. The small nut holding the leg to the body of the bipod had backed out after approx 100 shots from my admittedly heavy recoiling Ultra Mag. I put that nut back on and observed the other leg was also very close to coming off. Maybe for the price this should be an understood payoff, but I'm still disappointed.

I've got one of these on my tacticalized 10/22 and am loving it. Initially, I was having trouble with the leg pivot nuts loosening... but a little blue locktite solved that. These are EXACT copies of Harris... pretty sure the plans were drawn up with a Harris BP on the drawing table. They are a bit lighter weight than Harris. I've got 2 Harris bipods and the only reason I prefer them over this Rockmount is because they say "Harris" on them. The Rockmount is functioning just as well.

I have a Weatherby 7mm Rem Mag and this bipod is perfect for the gun. Its steady and consitant shot after shot. Would not recommend for heavier recoil rifles. I prefer shooting off this bipod to stationary shooting rest.

Is it 100% as good as a Harris? Heck no - but it depends on what it is used for; 22LR or macho Man '308' and upwards. This bi-pod is well made, readily adjustable, finish is as good as Harris as is the overall rigidity and dependability. The complaints about "screws backing out" is minor, since even with the Harris it is prudent to use a tad of Lock-Tite on all bolts, nuts, screws and washers that one does not want coming loose at a critical moment. This is NOT a big issue; it is more laziness on the part of the buyer / end user when checking it over and / or assembling. I surely would NOT degrade the product due to "user stupidity" when thinking that every threaded portion of the unit is perfectly installed and tightened to a reasonable torque. Vibration will surely loosen ANY nut / bolt combination is steps are not taken to remedy the situation BEFORE it becomes an issue. Admittedly, leg adjustment is "slightly less convenient" than with my Harris, however, with a bit of practice and common sense this unitwill function just fine and appears well enough constructed that many long YEARS (not "months") of use can be expected.Paying the extra $ is, for the majority of users, NOT necessary in order to hang a Harris on their firearm.DEFINITELY recommend this product - without reservations beyond the minor points noted above.Good shooting!

I should have bought the Harris in the first place. This rest looks like a harris, but doesn't hold together like one. I've constantly had nuts and washers coming loose and falling off. One of the spring clips let go and slipped. The spring clips have rotated on a couple of occasions. The cheap little bar that goes across the middle popped out on one side. When I go out to shoot, I want to shoot-- not spend half my time working on a bipod. Save yourself a headache and spend the extra 20 or 30 bucks on a harris. You'll be happier in the long run.

Not as good as the orginal Harris (I compared both). There's quite a bit of freeplay in the legs. The springs are much weaker, and that contributes to the general flimsiness of this bipod. OK for a .22, not good enough for a precision centerfire rifle.

I was very impressed with the product for as much as I spent on it its sturdy I havent had any mechanical faller with it. But I do have a few complaints, it is very hard to adjust the bipod to the in between positions most of the time mine is either at the top or the bottom. Another thing is the padding that protects your rifle has compressed a little on one side so my scope on level ground dose not site strait up and down. It was an easy fix but can be a problem at long ranges. But I am still comfortable with using to shoot at 1000 yards. Over all works grate for what I need it fore.

I like this bipod for it's affordable price and it does it's job for my Savage MKII. It needs to be lock really tight so it doesn't come loose. I don't recommend this on a .308 caliber, it's just not as heavy duty as the Harris.
