Whenever I load for a ...

Whenever I load for a rifle that can be finicky with accuracy, I start with Sierra bullets. I personally don't like non-bonded boat tail bullets, so I ended up with these Pro-Hunter bullets for my Ruger Ultra Light in .257 Roberts. I was able to get 2800 fps and right around 1 inch at 100 yds with RL22 and a 20 inch barrel. At this velocity, plain old cup and core bullets work great, there's no need for premium bullets, in my opinion. So far have taken one deer through the lungs at 25 yds, complete pass through. My son will use this rifle and load for his first deer season this year.

In my 257 Roberts these ...

In my 257 Roberts these ProHunters shoot the best. I even tried some of the pricey 100 grain jobs from another maker against them. The 117 grn PH is the most accurate. On game performance is same for both, but why pay nearly twice as much?

I have been shooting this ...

I have been shooting this bullet in my custom Mauser in 250 Savage for 3 years now. I am very happy with their performance both on paper and on whitetail deer here in Oklahoma. Accuracy is very good. I get 1" groups at 100 yards with a measured velocity of 2675 fps. I have complete penetration with these bullets. My furthest shot so far is 135 yards. I will definitely continue using these bullets.

This bullet is very ...

This bullet is very accurate in my Savage 110 in 250-3000. Shoots one 3/8" hole 3 shot group at 100 yards. I have killed three deer. 7 point buck, shot at 112 yards through the front shoulder, deer traveled 100 yards. Did not recover the bullet. Shot a large 8 point at 180 yards, hit the spine in the neck recovered bullet. Fragments and the cup with a little core left. Deer dropped. Large doe at 100 yards behind the shoulder with complete pass through with nasty large exit wound. Deer dropped and kicked for a minute and died. Good bullet. recommend

After installing a Tubb ...

After installing a Tubb Speedlock in my Rem 700 CDL 25-06 I had to work up a new hunting load for deer and antelope. This Sierra 117 gr ProHunter shoots very consistent groups each time I've been to the range. The best 5 shot group so far is 0.338" at 100 yds. Using Federal 210 primers, seating to 15/1000 off the lands and full length sizing to bump shoulders 2/1000, the chrony reads about 3150 fps.
