The Underboss provides a distinct tactical advantage in the dark, combining the blinding illumination of a powerful flashlight with the aiming index and intimidation factor of a laser sight. It features a xenon bulb that emits a retina burning 150 lumens of white light, red aiming laser and integral mount that is compatible with Picatinny-style rails. Powered by 123A lithium batteries (included).

Most Helpful Positive Review

The Underboss unit is ...

The Underboss unit is quite solidly built, not particularly heavy, although somewhat bulky. The flashlight component is bright enough to white out my entire vision field even while my eyes were adapted to moderately bright light. The laser component is also very bright and easily visible in all but full daylight. One caveat: this unit is nigh impossible to mount to a Springfield XD subcompact, the weapon simply doesn't have enough length of rail on it for the light to grasp. I probably should have seen it coming, but Hellfighter's website insists on almost every page this product is mentioned that it will mount any weapon with a Picatinny rail. On my shotgun with long rails, it serves perfectly. Hellfighter perhaps needs to adjust their sales pitch, but otherwise this is an excellent product for the price.

It is a good product, but my review is based on experience on my Springfield XD-45. Even with the 5" barrel on my Tactical model, the points of contact are so small that the unit cannot be aligned with the barrel. I tried shimming with cardboard and tin foil, but ended up returning the unit.

Hunkier than other ...

Hunkier than other advertised rail/laser light for pistols. Mount needs a better design, the latching bracket is a tad small. Light is very bright, somewhat yellowish. Laser is excellent, visible 500yds away. Overall a solid product.

The HellFighter Underboss ...

The HellFighter Underboss is a good product for the price. The light is very bright. The laser is visible in daylight, but works much better under dim conditions. The unit is on the large side, but weight is not too much. The unit did not fit very well on my XD compact. The rail mount has two has small points of contact to fully tighten down the unit. On my XD the unit just barely fit and when it was fully tightened, it slightly twisted the unit off center. The laser adjustment was great enough to make the unit work properly. This unit should fit much better on a full size handgun. Overall, the unit is good and the price cannot be beat.

After about 6 months or ...

After about 6 months or more of having the HellFighter, I like it and recommend it. As far as a light/laser combo goes this is solid and has always worked well. For the money it is hard to beat.

I think the laser/ light ...

I think the laser/ light is a good product. However the attachement system is not quite what I expected, it should work better on long guns than handguns as there is only a full rail on one side. In addition it is more of a tighten down and leave on rather than an on off attachment. The light is blinding and the laser is great, so in that respect it is a great product.
