Product Information

Custom-grade ammunition from the factory. Built to the tightest tolerances for peak performance rivaling and sometimes surpassing handloads in many guns. XTP Bullets feature a performance-improved point that has 6 precise folds to divide the bullet into symmetrical sections and initiate controlled expansion at low velocities while not fragmenting at higher velocities. They expand reliably at a wide range of velocities for a deep, terminal penetration with every shot. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer-primed, reloadable brass cases.

Hornady knows what they are doing when they make a hunting load. This round is a handful, but its exactly what you want for hunting medium size game with a pistol.

Accurate round out to 50 ...

Accurate round out to 50 meters; 2 inch groups with iron sights; consistent precision of rounds, 1.7 inch standard deviation using 60 rounds at 25 yards. Used in a .460 magnum S&W with 5.5 inch barrel. 20% more recoil than 250 grain Barnes Federal Vita-Shok and Hornady 240 grain XTP. Excellent hunting round.

Excellent hunting round! Bought 10 boxes of this stuff and was able to test out the ammo on multiple targets. Recoil is more then the average handgun shooter can handle. Jacket Separation was found in all recovered ammo, but this was expected. I plan on purchasing more once I am finished with these! Great Product! Should work well on Hogs as well as large game animals

I used the XTP 300gn in my 9 1/2" 454 Super Redhawk to take 2 whitetail deer back to back one hunting trip. Both deer were less than 50 yards when shot and ran less than 30yrds; however, I found when cleaning both animals the lead core had separated from the XTP copper jackets on both rounds, I found one of the rounds had broken into 3 pieces and the other came apart into 4, but I'm not 100% sure I found all of the broken rounds?. While it did the job of expiring the deer I would NEVER use the XTP to hunt dangerous game or as protection from dangerous animals. I now prefer a heavy, harder hitting hardcast round for everything I hunt when using my 454.

I had one word when I first tried this stuff: "Niiiiicee!" Top-quality components, very consistent, and great for hunting. Get a glove if you don't have one already!
