I wonder if I got the same product as all the other 5 star reviewers. The finish on mine was very rough to the point where it scratched my hand. And I don't mean just the pins. The whole piece was pretty rough cast. Is that how all Colt stuff is? I bought it to put on my Springer EMP and it felt totally out of place. Not that it mattered, because it wouldn't fit no matter what I tried. The safety never shifted down enough to clear the slide. Eventually I decided it wasn't worth the effort to try and fix because I didn't want it on my gun anyway. I'm happy for the other reviewers who are getting their money's worth, but it definitely didn't work for me and my Springfield. It's now on its way to a landfill.

Beautifully finished part ...

Beautifully finished part but may require fitting if used on a caliber other than .45ACP. I bought this to replace the safety on a .38 Super and it was hard to engage. The safety on the gun was marked "3", like the slide stop, which means it was fitted for a .38 Super gun - this one is unmarked. Will keep the original safety on the gun and will keep this safety as a spare for a .45.

Perfect fit in Rock Island Armory Tactical. The perfect 1911 safety that is secure but easy to flip off during presentation (just like my Series 70 Colt Government). Will get another to improve my Kimber that has the winged safety that is too easy to flip off. Installed with Wolff plunger tube spring, you have a real positive safety that you can depend on for the 1911.

Excellent single side safety. Just the right size/shape -- not too large or too small. Minor fitting was needed for a new sear installation. Blued finish is super high quality. I will order this product again. It is my recommended and preferred safety for the 1911.

This is the original, the "real deal". Perfect Colt bluing, traditional Series 70(and earlier Colt Commercial) style. Very hard to find item. Have been extremely pleased with all the original Colt parts available here. Thanks, Midway!!!
