The flat mainspring housing I wanted I had to backorder. This will do in the meantime. Its cheap and it looks fine.

It fit right in. No issues.

Fit easily.On Springfield GI 5", fit fine, no filing. Will be filing the various places where the plastic wasn't cleaned up from the molding process (you know, excess plastic that was pinched between the mold and not taken off at the factory!!). Holds my new MS components and looks pretty good if you're not eyeballing it too closely. I got it for a flat black MSH to replace SA's ILS, on the cheap, and I plan to simply get an upgrade as cash allows. Its cheap, what did you expect? It works, it will probably work, it is cheaply made.

Functions exactly as a stock part should, It does get chewed up after a while of heavy use, but its so inexpensive for a Colt part its not even an issue. Drops right in, and works great.

I also used this to replace the arched MSH of my GSG 1911 22. The Colt MSH came with a mainspring housing spring (beefier than the one in the GSG) and plungers installed, including a mainspring cap pin holding everything in place. The Colt MSH was a perfect fit in the GSG 1911 22 and there were no issues with the swap out. The finish of the housing looks and feels fine to me.

Not bad for 8 bucks, however the finish is a little too plastic looking for me. Fits fine in my Springfield, however I am not a fan of how it looks.

I bought this non-metallic MSH to replace a checkered steel MSH in a SW1911PD that has been tearing me up during concealed carry. It is relatively smooth and does not gouge during carry. Since it only weighs .3 oz, I additionally reduced my carry weight another 1.2 oz.
