This Quiet Control muzzle brake is cut from solid 304 stainless steel bar stock. In order to help reduce felt recoil, muzzle rise and noise heard by the shooter a system of ports have been machined on this muzzle brake.

I decided to experiment ...

I decided to experiment and swap out my factory installed brake for one of these. With this brake I can follow the shot through the scope and see the impact. Even rapid fire double taps land about 1" apart @ 25 yards and I can see both impacts through the scope. This should really help my next 3 gun match. I gave this product 5 stars because of how well it's made and the great performance. I think those are worth overlooking a few things that are far less important. I was very displeased with the spacers that were included with this item. The holes are oversized and that makes it very difficult to line them up when you tighten the brake. The shims are thin enough to be a little bit sharp and now they are slightly sticking out of the barrel behind the muzzle device. Not my favorite situation. I tried a couple crush washers (two I bought from Midway and one that was on my rifle) and none of them were really the right size. I also ordered some Rockset (high temp thread locker) from Midway and now that I'm pleased with the brake, I intend to index it and lock it on with Rockset. I'll mill the washer and dump the spacers and things should be perfect. Still a stellar performer and worth a little time getting it installed just right.

I have one of these on a 6.8 spc and it works great. I have a Miculek brake on my 5.56 to compare with. The PRI reduces recoil better and is much quieter.

Great product! The fit ...

Great product! The fit and finish were excellent. No cheap matt blue finish. This is a quality product...you get what you pay for. The included washers (multiple thicknesses) will easily allow the user to "time" the brake. Simply wrap a layer or two of masking tape around a round shank screwdriver and place through the side ports to tighten. The ports visible on top in the photo are the only ones on the brake, i.e., there are not small ports on the top left, indicating that this brake is designed to help keep the rifle down and to the left, similar to the AK-47 slant brake. The short of it is this...this brake works awesome! Almost no recoil movement and the noise is not objectionable with basic ear muffs. No need for double protection like some other designs. It's also smaller, in my opinon than it looks in the pictures. It's only slightly larger than an A2 flash hider and looks great on any AR. Worth every penny!

Great brake on my 6.8spc.No muzzle climb makes it feel like a .22. Use a strap wrench and red loctite to secure it.

Overall a good brake. Had small trouble getting the washers to correctly align the ports. Also, the standard muzzle wrench for AR style rifles did not work with this product.
