The Caldwell XLA Bipods provide a stable shooting support that conveniently attaches to almost any firearm with a sling swivel stud. The lightweight aluminum design adds minimal weight and deploys quickly, with legs that instantly spring out to the shooting position with the touch of a button.

The legs are notched for easy indexing to a specific height. There is a connection point for sling attachment and multi section legs that collapses forward allowing for convenient carry of the firearm. Soft rubber feet provide enhanced stability, while the padded bipod base protects the firearm's forend.

Note: Pivoting Models - In the real world of hunting, the chances of the ideal shot opportunity occurring while on a level ground are slim-to-none. A pivoting bipod will allow the shooter to compensate for ground that is unlevel by up to 20°. The lower portion of the bipod pivots independently from the upper stock mount, allowing the firearm to be quickly leveled on uneven ground. The tension knob can be adjusted to control the resistance of the pivoting motion.

I'm one of those people who give the product time to prove itself before I give it a review, so after using it for the past 3 months plus at the rifle range here it goes. First off the installation of the Caldwell XLA Bipod Sling Swivel Stud Mount 6" to 9" was extremely easy, in a snap I mounted it on the factory installed swivel stud that came with the Remington rifle. The bi-pod helped in improving the accuracy at a 225 yard target. I use a 300 SAUM in .308. I'm telling you this because prior to purchasing it no one listed in their review it's durability, while supporting a weapon using a large caliper round, ............. It's fantastic. Used with a Mono-pod your accuracy will improve again. The bi-pod proved itself by making the firearm solid and steady, which improved consistency and accuracy. The other nice thing about the Caldwell XLA Bipod Sling Swivel Stud Mount is that my wife shoots a .223. Because NO tools are needed to to install or remove the bi-pod I can remove it from my rifle and install it on her .223 while in the field in about 2 minutes using the provided thumb screw, making it cost effective in that you only have to purchase one unit to service other rifles. When finished shooting, I can either quickly remove it and put it in storage or because of it's small compact size leave it on the rifle and put the rifle with bi-pod into a gun sock and then into a gun safe. A+ item.

Bought this for my a long ...

Bought this for my a long range .308 rifle. Rifle weighs around 13.5 lbs. Took it to the range for the first time this weekend and was very disappointed with the product. Almost every shot, at least every two shots the catch would come loose and one of the legs would retract one or two notches into the base. Short and sweet, product doesn't like heavy guns and decent recoil. Wouldn't buy again, will give to neighbor to try on his 10/22.

Great bang for your buck have used alot seems to be holding up well. Doesn't add much weight to gun.Installes easy. I have ordered a couple more for other guns.

After several days of negotiating and re-negotiating, I finally purchased the XLA. The installation was effortless, and included no tools; snap on, snap off. The frame structure is very sturdy, and holds up real well to even higher caliber rounds. The legs were a little looser, then expected, but as soon as weight sits on it that issue disappears. Overall the XLA is a great product and surpasses my expectations for the amount I paid for it. Highly recommended.
