The Daniel Defense Complete AR-15 Bolt Assembly is constructed of high strength Carpenter 158 Steel that is Shot Peened and Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI) before leaving the factory to ensure the bolt's integrity. Includes an extractor booster to enhance performance and reliability. Bolt assembly comes fully assembled and features a heavy Mil-Spec Phosphate Finish for corrosion resistance.

Yes, I would like it if ...

Yes, I would like it if the claim that this bolt was MPI was backed up by it having the bolt marking as in the picture, but it seems to be a nice piece. Also, as to the reviewer who experienced trouble closing the action ... new gas rings always require substantial effort when inserting the bolt into the carrier - my DD bolt also resisted complete 'lockup' with just finger pressure, as well - so just let the action spring drive the carrier/bolt home (just as it does when the AR is fired) ... I think you'll find it then works fine.

As in previous reviews the bolt has no marking, for example the MP as in the web site photo. I hope that MidwayUSAs reputation would not allow an inferior or lesser product to be sent in its place. On the other hand it comes already installed with an extractor upgrade kit with rubber grommet

Received bolt and upon initial inspection appeared well made, although ad picture shows "MP", my bolt was not marked. Bolt will not close once it is installed and appears to be out of spec, checked against a Colt MP bolt.

I ordered 2 of these and just got them today. Although the picture clearly shows a bolt that is "MP" marked and the other guy says his is "MP" marked, both of mine are not marked at all. Not sure what to think of that but it makes me question if these were tested or not. I guess I will send DD an e-mail and find out if they mark all the bolts or not. Package was not marked Daniel Defense either but did have a DD-9302 part number on the bag so I guess these are the real deal.I have not had a chance to put them in the gun yet but they look fine other than not being marked.

Got this bolt for a piston carrier from Bushmaster. Have not tried it out yet, but seems to be well manufactured as all DD products. Locks/unlocks smoothly from extension and is MP marked.
