Nice and big for use with ...

Nice and big for use with gloves. Used lock-tite to help secure in place. I've had no problems with this. Helps give your AR a more agressive look.

Using on 3 AR-15s...the ...

Using on 3 AR-15s...the piece comes with a small hex wrench for a reason...the oversized bolt release pad is not tightened prior to shipment. Fasten it tight before using your firearm. I used blue Loctite (the removable kind) to ensure the small screw would not back out. The use of the screw gives you the ability to adjust the pad to three different positions. Given the screw could come loose, this is not arguably not 'combat ready' as others have noted. Then again, I'm not taking this into combat.

Installed mine on a Colt, ...

Installed mine on a Colt, and my brother put one on his RRA at the same time. Neither of ours consistently held the bolt open after the last round. The oversized paddle is able to be rotated to a position favorable to the user, but mine fell off after approximately 100 rounds. Fortunately, the stub which remains is actually about the same size as the original and would release the bolt. Bottom line, I reinstalled the original piece from Colt and my brother did the same with his RRA. Everything works great again. Reliability with this part was the main reason for the poor rating.

This bolt catch ...

This bolt catch substantially improves locating the device in any position. Leverage provided eases closure of the bolt. The pad can be fixed in three different positions catering to anyone's preference. An extended punch will be required for installation.

A huge button that can be ...

A huge button that can be rotated to different positions to allow a customized install. Be smart and have Loctite around to weld the set screw in place. I suggest beating on the rifle with a few hundred rounds to make sure it sticks around. If it does fall out, the piece pinned in will function just like the OEM catch. Maybe slightly drill a detent where the set screw contacts to lock it in. Great catch and easy to install, just buy a drift punch from Midway while you're here.

I like the type that ...

I like the type that extends down and can be activated with the trigger finger better. My #1 lower wears a Johnson Ready Mag and the Wilson paddle can be turned to clear where as the other type contacts the ready mag and can't work. The Wilson is very well made and works perfectly.

First of all, I run my AR's a LOT. So, through experience I have found what parts really work and what parts are gimmicks. And I have to say that this is absolutely a gimmick. I bought one of these for my 6.8 SCP. It ran fine for the first couple outings so I bought four more for the rest of my AR's. That's where everything went down the drain. Not considering that my 6.8 mags have MagPul followers, my standard followers would not consistently trip the undersized protrusion designed to be caught by such. The Wilson bolt had a lot of slop and this also exacerbated this issue. The adjustable paddle kept flexing more and more as time went. I had to continually re-tighten the set screw which made a pivot point eventually for the paddle to wobble around on. Ultimately, to fix this, I removed the paddles from all my bolt releases, put the deformed paddles in a vice to reshape the slots, sand blasted the parts and re-Parkerized them. Then I used J-B Weld to permanently affix the paddles to the main unit making sure not to mount the paddle so low as to block it from pivoting on the receiver. Then a few coats of Lauer Dura-Coat gave them a new rest resistant finish. Most people don't have the tools and equipment to accomplish this task however. My advice... keep your money and use it on a MagPul B.A.D. lever. Wilson Combat really dropped the ball on this one.

Not a battle ready piece ...

Not a battle ready piece to be sure. Mine fell off just working the charging handle back and forth. I remedied this by placing RED locktite on the set screw, I DO NOT RECOMMEND doing this, but it does seem to be holding up now. The anodize seems to be fairly decent and the steel of good quality and there are no issues with weapon function. With some redesign by W.C. this could be a nice add-on, however I don't recommend it for a fielded AR, and certainly not for a battle rifle.
