Product Information

The Speedfeed 3 has the same shell-holding design as the Speedfeed 1, but a pistol grip has been added for better control. Like the Speedfeed 1, this stock holds 4 extra shells in the buttstock, and features durable polymer construction and a thick rubber recoil pad. 12 gauge only. Black

Notes:

Stock has two magazine tubes(storing a total of four rounds) molded into the stock. Each magazine tube (holding two shells) exits just behind the pistol grip, one on each side of the stock. A steel spring in each tube holds the rounds in the magazine until they're needed and then with a flick of the finger, shells are instantly available for loading.

This mounted easily and ...

This mounted easily and fit superbly on my 870, only took a couple minutes to do, and the directions were unnecessary for me.I am not used to using a pistol grip butt stock, so I believe I'm a little slower at shouldering and aiming the shottie with this stock, but it does allow me to control the gun more for follow up shots once shouldered.What I don't like too much about this product are the integral magazines. The springs do allow for two shells to be loaded on each side (total of four) but I'd only put one on each side because when two are squeezed into one tube, the fit is so tight that it takes a great deal to release the first spare shell. Much more than finger tight, I had to use a flat head screw driver to remove them. So, I'd only put one shell per side making it hold a total of two. Not a big deal.Also disliked, I am left handed. Notice in the picture of this product that the right side of the stock has the integral magazine at the top. This creates a lip, not a very sharp lip, but still a lip that is uncomfortable on my left cheek and face when I aim the gun.I rated this product as good (3 stars) because it is what it is and does what it is supposed to do. It's easy to install and use, can't knock them for that. But, if you're already quick and comfortable with your normal stock, don't think this is a must have wonder product, stick with what you know. And surely don't think you're going to hold a ton of extra shells with this either. The integral magazines are basically unnecessary, especially if you're left handed.

By far the best stock for the 870 I have found, form fit & function is perfect. Had no problems attaching this stock, very solid. Will buy more.

Worst aftermarket product ...

Worst aftermarket product for any weapon I have ever used. What seemed like a simple procedure to mount turned into a "just try and take it off to send it back" job. 2 Holes to mount recoil pad and the last one would not secure tightly no matter what I did. Frustrating to say the least.
