It worked great for my Mossberg 500. I always keep 5 in the tube and 5 with this shell holder its my incase gun.

Does what it needs to do ...

Does what it needs to do for my 1100. Holds the shells a little too tight and sits a little loose on the stock, so quickly removing shells is a challenge. Also the specs state that the neoprene has a hole for a sling swivel stud... this is not true, which kind of sucks. But for the price it's a good deal.

I got it for my remington ...

I got it for my remington 870 20 ga. It fits the stock snugly. The limbsaver pad I'm so fond of does not reduce the number of shells it can hold. It holds the shells tight. The shell loops could use more spacing between them as its a little hard to pull them out. For a 20 gauge I give it 4 stars, if it had better loop spacing id give it 5 stars.

The product description ...

The product description is deceiving. It reads, "sling swivel stud is accessible without cutting neoprene". As state by the other reviewer, there is no hole for the sling stud. For it to be accessible you would need to install the carrier in front of the sling stud. I purchased this carrier for a Remington 870 with Speedfeed iv-s stock, but also tested it on the original stock. This carrier is tighter fitting than others I have used, which is a good thing. I also like the lack of the sling stud hole. This gives the user the option of where the carrier sits on the stock. I placed it where it felt most comfortable then used a razor blade to cut an "X" over the sling stud and pushed it around. The sling stud helps to stop the carrier from moving around on the stock. The shellholders themselves did not hold the shells too tight for me. The tension on the shells was perfect. Appears to be a quality product that will hold up well and at a great price.
