The larger bolt release pad on this tactical bolt catch allows for faster and more precise acquisition. Also included is a lower extended pad which holds the bolt carrier back when the magazine is not engaged. Easy installation requires removing the old exterior roll pin and replacing with a new roll pin (included).

Great in theory, failed in practice. Bought this bolt release along with a new DPMS "slick side" upper for my DPMS lower. All components made by DPMS, but it would not allow bolt to fully retract. Went back to stock release and have no problem. Should have read reviews before ordering as I see another customer had same problem with a slick side upper. How did a great company like DPMS miss this one? Maybe it would work on a non slick side upper?

I have put this on a couple of lowers after I got tired of wrestling the AR to my strong hand to keep bolt open at the gun range. I am a right hander so maybe a leftie wouldn't find this as necessary as right handers do.

Mine arrived twisted and could not be installed. I agree with another reviewer, it was a manufacturing issue as the packaging was not damaged. Two stars for finish and strength. I should have sent it back but instead tried to force it into usable shape. I applied way more force and impact this part should ever see before it broke.

The bolt catch I received was crooked, not bent. There was clearly a manufacturing flaw, so it did not fit at all. Aside from that bit the finish looks good and seems like it would work well for ambidextrous control, so I will give it 3 stars and put a mil spec bolt catch back in.

I would rate it five stars if the lower paddle extended another 1/2". Better than a standard release but I would get a B.A.D. instead of this.

I bought two, one for my Sig516 and one for my Stag Lower. I just took the 4 day rifle class at Front Sight, (left handed), and was having a terrible time getting a type 3 malfunction (double feed) cleared within the time limit. With this thing, it's no problem. In fact, I'm now faster than the 'righties' clearing type 3 malfunctions. Now with the index finger of my left hand, I can instantly switch from ready position (finger forward) to bolt release or bolt lock-back. This plus an Ambi-Safety makes all the difference in the world! Would highly recommend for left hand shooters! For Right handed, go for the Magpul BAD lever.

This product did not live up to my expectations. The lower lever stands out on the side of the rifle, and I found that it got in the way. It is a fine product however I think that the MagPul BAD lever is much more useful.
