This stock fit perfect on my 1261 10/22. I did sand around the mag well and the top a bit just to get rid of the sharp edges but it was not necessary. It feels more solid than the ATI version.

This is a good stock for ...

This is a good stock for the price, but I had to sand the stock's inside area extensively so that the clip could drop free, the barrel channel also was too small for my factory 18 inch barrel. The hole for the receiver screw was about 1/16" back too far but I was able to make it fit with my Dremel. After I got it to work it has been great, I really like the angle of the pistol grip and the shape of the recoil pad, I was able to reduce the size of my groups by a 1/4" on average just from the better grip it gives. I rate this as a three because it took a good hour and a half to get the stock to fit, so this would not be a good stock for the typical person with no gunsmithing experience. But once it is on, it looks and works great.

This stock does not fit! After reading some reviews I expected some sanding but not what I've gone through. So far I have had to sand, grind, file, shave etch and the fit still is poor. The receiver has to be forced into the stock. The barrel doesn't sit fully in the channel. The barrel band doesn't come close to fitting. And to top it all off the hole for the take-down screw isn't aligned with that in the receiver. I consider this a waste of $68 and would return it if I thought Midway would take it back.

My stock fits my action ...

My stock fits my action very tightly. It was hard to get the action in at first. The area around the magazine well is a little sharp but a pocketknife rounded those out. Mine did NOT include the bolt that attaches the action to the stock so I used the one from my factory stock. Some websites sell a cheek pad that raises the comb. You won't want one unless you have an extra tall scope mount. The length of pull is roughly 2 inches longer than the standard Ruger stock. The checkering is smooth, not sharp. The strangest thing is that my barrel free floats in this stock and does not contact the barrel channel. As a result, there is a gap between the barrel shroud and the stock and I'm not using the shroud. That's OK because the shroud achieved nothing and scratched my barrel. Overall I'm very pleased with the stock. I look forward to seeing how well it shoots.
