ProMag has it's ups and downs when it comes to their cheap products. This is their biggest up. I hate to sound like an infomercial, but it truly is "slip on, throw bullets in, slam down." It easily cuts down load time to a third of what manual loading would take. It even has a concave end so that you can't put the bullets in backwards. Get this product!

I purchased this product based on the reviews on this site and the fact I needed/wanted to load a lot of magazines for my AR-15s to keep them stored. I also got a MagLula so I could compare the two.I was not impressed. You put 5 cartridges in the loader, then jam them down into the magazine with the ramming thing. The MagLula is not only more convenient to use, but it is also faster. I timed myself using both loading mags to their 30 round capacity and the MagLula was at least 25% faster.This is not a bad product - it absolutely works as advertised. But for the same end result it is not the best product by a long shot.

I got the this loader and the Maglula. I can load magazines as fast as I can grab the rounds with either of them. The Maglula is a little more refined, you load the rounds into the magazine one at a time while moving the lever back and forth in-between rounds while this one you drop five rounds into the slot and ram them in like a stripper clip. The Maglula also unloads but I use my rifle to unload my rounds. I think this one wins over the Maglula just because it is less than half the price.

I read the reviews and figured the fellas were on to a winner, so I ordered 2. Although it's not as fast as pre-loaded 10-round stripper clips, it is one heck of lot easier to load large cap mags with 5 rounds at a time being quickly stuffed in the magazine. No bothersome tabs to bend or that will break.Its a simple design that very simple to use. Just slid it open, drop in 5 rounds through the silhouette guide slot while perched atop the magazine and slap em down. 6 quick cycles and a 30 rounder is ready in about half a minute!With its glass-filed polymer construction I figure it's practically unbreakable and should last longer than I will.

Ordered this instead of a MagLula as a result of the great reviews. Unfortunately, my unit would load but get stuck on the downward motion and had to be pulled up(with above normal effort) every time. Am sure this was a factory defect of some sort. Also found the plastic not as good as in MagLula's. Returned item and ordered the Uplula instead.

If you don't need to UNLOAD your magazines (which I don't need to do), this works great! Just place five cartridges in the slot, push the "ram" and they zip right into the magazine just like if you were using a stripper clip. The fact that you can only "zip in" five at a time does not really matter to me, it is still about ten times faster than loading the magazine one-at-a-time with my thumb!

Simple, fast, well made. Just plain works! Toss 5 shells in the slot and push ram down. Best AR loader I have used. Never use stripper clip again! Get one!
