The Troy Industries VTAC Alpha BattleRail is a slim, one-piece, customizable free float tube. Constructed from aircraft aluminum and finished with a Mil-Spec type 3 hardcoat anodizing. The rail system features a continuous top rail for mounting optics and back-up iron sights. The Alpha system uses the standard AR-15 barrel nut and a low profile locking mechanism to free float the rail system and run cooler than other "close to the barrel" systems. The VTAC Alpha also includes three customizable rail sections that can be mounted anywhere on the handguard using the cooling slots, additional customizable sections, and accessories are available separately. When installing a rail that is longer than the gas system a low profile gas block is required.
