The Mark Brown Custom AR-15/M16 Bolt Carrier Carbon Gun Cleaning Scraper is designed to easily break loose and scrape away hard to get at carbon build-up from the bolt carrier without damage. This AR-15/M16 carbon scraper is constructed of a steel scraper with plastic handle and quickly corrects function-related cycling problems caused by excessive carbon deposits inside the bolt recess. The hardened steel scraper will last indefinitely with proper use.

There are pros and cons to owning an AR. One of the biggest cons is cleaning it after an afternoon at the range. One of the major cleaning headaches is getting the carbon out of the bolt carrier. Every time you fire, every time you chamber a round the carbon deposits get compressed and pounded into a small hard to reach area. Cleaning this highly compressed and dense carbon residue is a long and tedious process. This tool makes that process much easer. You're still going to need so soak the carrier in Hoppe's but the days of spending an hour+ with a dental pick are over. The nature of the design of this tool makes almost impossible to damage the bore. It is solid and sturdy feeling when used unlike some other products. Its a little more expensive but you get what you pay for.

I find that raves about this tool are very hard to believe in that I have used this tool on 3 different carriers and it always disappoints me. It bottoms out at the edge of the bolt pass through hole and leaves a bunch of carbon outside of that radius. I always end up going back to the big screwdriver method of getting the last of the carbon out. I thought that perhaps the dimensions of my bolt carriers were off a bit and possibly causing the problem, but I lent the tool to a friend and he confirmed my issues on two of his own carriers. I think the design is an excellent idea but the dimensions of the scraper head do not match the inside bore dimensions of any carrier I have tried, so it fails to perform to it's claims on 5 bolt carriers I have cleaned.

I thought this product was a waste of money. It does not do the job. I still have to get into the carrier with a pic to get out all the carbon residue. I have given this product several attempts only to be disappointed each time. Do not buy.

There is not much more I can say about this tool that has not already been stated in othr reviews. But I can state this is a 100% quality tool that will save time and will properly clean the carbon form the Bolt Carrier. I was not sure what I would receive based upon the photo, but I was thrilled with the tool as soon as I saw it. After using the tool, I was sold on this one! If you own an AR, you need this tool!

I guarantee this is the one of the few 'must have' tools in a gun guy's inventory. No more stuffing patches down the bolt carrier trying to clean the inside of it. In 2 minutes, I had a pile of powder fouling on the counter top that came out of my bolt carrier. I was amazed how dirty it was considering the rifle was 'clean' when I started. One of the best AR tools I own. Couple this with a Iosso AR-15 brush set and you've got everything you need.
