Great tool for working with AR Barrel Nuts and the Jam Nut that comes with YHM Free Float tubes. This wrench is "heavy-duty", and feels very sturdy/well made. The only thing missing is a slot to attach a breaker-bar/torque-wrench, but the tool is long enough to provide a decent amount of leverage.

I build a lot of AR's and have used quite a bit of the tools out there and quite frankly I'm not very impressed with this one. Lots of bulk without enough leverage to really tighten the YHM jam nut to where I'm satisfied that it will stand up to any REAL abuse. A piece of advice. cover this thing in masking tape so when, and I do emphasize WHEN this thing slips off the jam nut, it won't scratch up your nice gun that bad.

Great tool for installing YHM free float forearms. Works as YHM described. Hand tighten and use the tool to proceed to the next hole that lines up with gas tube opening in the upper. My only issue is why YHM didn't include cutouts for muzzle devices, buffer tubs and to a lesser extent, torque wrench / breaker bar cutout. My next tool will be the AR-15/M-16/M4 armorers tool to handle those other tasks.

Good Product, works exactly how it should. I noticed a few complaints from people who have broken the pins off of their wrench by using it on stock barrel nuts. That would be due to the fact that you aren't supposed to use a 3-pin wrench to take off stock barrel nuts. You use a different wrench for that. If you use any 3-pin wrench for this, you will break it. Use this wrench for Yankee Hill or other similar barrel nuts and you will not break it. If you are removing your stock barrel nut, you need an armorer's wrench, I use the Bushmaster one with great results. I do wish Yankee Hill had included a 1/2 square for using a torque wrench though.

Used this to install my Midwest Industries T12 free float handguard. The pins held up well enough to get the appropriate amount of torque on the barrel nut. Makes tightening the jam nut off and on very easy too. Yes it is an expensive part but everything it's supposed to do, it does well. I used this to build my M4 not to make changes to an existing rifle but I can't imagine that this tool will ever break. It seems pretty solid to me.

I bought this wrench to use with the YHM free float tube I bought, and used it to install said fore end on my DPMS Lo Pro Classic. I had no problems removing and installing either barrel nuts, but I agree that this wrench could benefit from a 1/2 hole for use with a torque wrench. That is the only reason for the 4 star rating.
