Complete dis/reassembly info for P226/9. Great info. Watch out for the statement claiming the mag release can be changed to left-handed.

I recently had the opportunity to attend a Sig Sauer Academy armorers course, so I want to add to my earlier review of this DVD based on my latest experience. The DVD still gets five stars; it is a great DVD. However, it contains a few inaccuracies; nothing that will ruin your pistol or cause injury, though. They are very minor discrepencies. Also, the DVD does not cover the DAK trigger system, neither its design/operation nor its disassembly; and be warned that there is one very important, critical change in the disassembly procedure for a DAK pistol. The SA Sig models are not covered in this DVD either. OTOH, the DVD pointed out a very important design aspect of the DA trigger operation that was not even mentioned in the live armorers course; and while the live course did cover the differences between the stamped carbon steel slide assemblies and the modern stainless ones--as does the DVD--it did not include info for the old style mainspring assemby and European type heel magazine release, whereas the DVD does. So bottom line, I still think this DVD is the best I have seen from AGI, and I am well over a dozen now.

Like Mr. Phillips, this was the first AGI video that I bought; and I liked it so much that I have bought several others since, so that says it all. I'm not mechanically inclined, and I'm horrible with my hands; my wife cringes whenever I pick up a tool, and contractors smile cuz they know they'll end up getting hired for a job ten times more extensive than if I had just hired them in the first place! Yet with the help of this DVD, after watching it about five times first and making ABSOLUTELY SURE I understood everything before beginning any work on my own, I was able to completely disassemble, clean, and reassemble my prized P226. Using one of the Sig Parts Kits in conjunction with the DVD, I replaced several parts. I was so impressed/pleased with my results, that I even wrote a "well done" letter to AGI for producing such a high-quality DVD. This is definitely a valuable tool for the Sig owner; the only thing better than this DVD for understanding the Sig classic pistols inside and out is to actually attend a Sig Armorer's Course in person, if you can afford it (but everyone can afford the DVD). By the way, this DVD also shows how to disassemble the models with a pinned-in breech block. Needless to say, I highly recommend this DVD.

All in all a better video ...

All in all a better video than the one produced by Chris Orndorf. At least this shows the orientation of parts with their cut away model. Granted on this there are some camera shots that are out of focus, but this has more usable information than the other DVD.

This is a good video except the lack of real closeups as procedures are being done is only bad part. Better video is sorely needed!

I don't know what the 3 star reviewer is talking about. I checked this DVD out at my local library and liked it so much, I bought it. This is an excellent reference and instructional course for those wanting to become a certified SIG armorer, or those just wanting to know how to work on their own pistols.Goes over history, function, disassembly, cleaning and lube, and reassembly. The factory cut away supplied by SIG, along with the hosts instructions & demonstrations, shows how all the parts of the pistol works and comes together as a whole.NO blurry or out of focus shots. You can actually SEE how the armorer takes the pistol apart and puts it back together. Excellent prep work for me and MUCH better than the one put out by Chris Orndorf and SIG.

I gave this a four out of five for one reason. The instructor did not mention any thing about sigs with internal extractors. It did not cover how to remove or check for problems with them. Otherwise another great agi info packed dvd

This AGI gunsmithing DVD on Sig auto pistols is the first of AGI's products I have purchased. The information provided in it is clear, concise, and easy to understand. Gunsmith Robert Dunlap has an easygoing, folksy style, and he explains how to completely disassemble a Sig "P" series pistol in terms anyone can comprehend. If you need to disassemble and reassemble one of these pistols with no problems, I highly recommend this DVD.
