These would have had 5 stars, but I had to have two replaced under the warranty. One day they mysteriously stopped dropping free, and it was not a problem with the gun (two other Chip McCormick Powermags and three Metalform mags still worked fine). I suppose the mag bodies must have warped. They were never bent, thrown, or abused in any way, so go figure. More importantly, Chip McCormick Corp's warranty service is excellent. They cheerfully replaced the mags free of charge.Since I got my replacement pair in 2004, I have had ZERO problems with these magazines, not even needing new springs after a couple of years and thousands of rounds of use in my Springfield Armory Milspec. There is no need to swap out the stock mag springs with aftermarket "extra power" springs.

i bought two of these. both had the first round of loaded 8 nose dive into feed ramp. with 7 rounds they both worked fine. called factory before returning to midway. ended up talking to chip. he talked to me for a while about feeding problems. decided to keep mags & try to work out issues. note: 230 ball ammo would feed with 8 rounds in mags. would not feed 8 of other types of ammo. chip said overall length of rounds was the key to geting the 8th round to feed.

I bought 5 of these magazines for my Para Ordnance PX745SS about three years ago. They are inexpensive and of high quality. They are welded at the bottom but the spring and follower are easy to extract and replace if required. I have experienced no malfunctions of any type with factory ammunition whether it is Ball FMJ, JHP, SWC or LRN. With reloads they are also reliable as long as the reloaded ammunition is under proper specs. Then again my 1911 digests anything as long at it fits the magazine. The magazines are brushed stainless and look very elegant with my pistol. The stainless steel is very important where I live since Florida is very humid 9 months out of the year and resistance to rust is mandatory. I am very pleased with this product and will buy more in the future for a Springfield GI in stainless steel I recently acquired.

Bought 2 of these magazines for the cost value and found that they work better than the stock mags that came with my pistol. 500 rounds each so far with no ftf's at all. My stock mag has had 1 ftf and several where it doesn't lock open the action. Something these magazines do every time.

Purchased 4 for a Taurus PT 1911. Will not feed HP defense ammo, and usually the first round of any LSWC ammo. Bullet nose dives into the feed ramp. Guns functions 100% with other brand 7 rnd magazines. Well built magazine, if they function in your gun.

I ordered four of these for my Springfield Mil Spec. After close to a thousand rounds, the magazines have all worked perfectly when feeding and dropping free. I have had no nose dive issues and would buy these mags again. Great value.

I have used these mags for about a year, and they still work without any problems what so ever. These mags are a great buy, in fact they work better than my Kimber mags in my Kimber Pro Carry II.

These mags work great in my Springfield 1911. I have a 18 1/2 lb recoil spring and shoot 230gr ball. I have had no jams in over 300 rounds. Great value for a stainless 8rd mag.
