This looks like a slant muzzle brake that would be found on an AK-47 and is the best that can be said about this part. I can tell you from experience that it doesn't even come close to the original. The only thing that is somewhat correct is the slant. This piece has only two notches, instead of four. The notches on this piece are at 10 O'clock and 2 O'clock. In order to work as Kalashnikov intended the notches have to be at 12 O'clock, 3 O'clock, 6 O'clock and 9 O'clock. If you truly want to replicate the slant muzzle brake that comes on all AK-47's and AKM's do not buy this product.

The finish on mine was brilliant. I'm a lefty, so the extra notch to offset rise and blast works perfect. I filled in the TAPCO "made in USA" with white paint. 922 just to make it more obvious...American made.

mounted on the WASR-10 threaded barrel. Did require some cutting to get the old one off though. greatly increases accuracy while standing firing several rounds at a time.

Perfect fit. The threads are precisely machined, and the brake screwed on snugly without the use of tools. Thread timing for the locking notch was a few thousandths short, requiring a light file stroke across the back of the brake for precision tightening right at the locking notch (I like parts like that). I don't believe these could have been any better-made. Midway vends excellent stuff.

Absolutely no muzzle rise. If that is the only criteria then BUY THIS! I was shooting quickly, and the rounds walked DOWN the hill, rather than how AKs rise a lot when fired rapidly. Have not shot at night but I bet the flash dispersing capabilities are none. I would bet huge fireball. But awesome for stopping muzzle rise. Cheap too. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

This fits perfectly on the GP WASR 10 with the threaded barrel. I hear that some of them do not have threaded barrels. So, check yours first!
