I'm not impressed. I ...

I'm not impressed. I doubt it saves more than 5% time verses the manual indexing. The auto index pawl broke during reloading, of course "out of business". Extra pawls and those little plastic fingers should be included, they are susceptible to breakage and including these would certainly be inexpensive and would make the customer happy when they do break. Nothing worse than being "shut down" for a ten cent part.

Just a note. If you are willing to buy a 110 volt bullet feeder for the auto press or this upgrade then powder jump wont be a problem. I have been through this and it works great.

The kit was easy to ...

The kit was easy to install with very good instructions. I use my Pro 2000 for reloading thousands of 9mm,.40SW and .45ACP so this review may not pertain to rifle reloading (hence the three star rating) of which I prefer a turret or single stage press. The indexing is precise but not smooth and you WILL throw powder out of the case. Now I have to reach in and place a finger over the charged case as it indexes.....So much for saving time!! RCBS products and service have been outstanding in the past but IMO this one needs to go back to the drawing board.

All of the Allen head ...

All of the Allen head screws in the new press head were not entirely tight when I got it out of the box. I failed to notice this until I loaded on it for a while. I would recommend a check of all the primer system parts before you assemble the unit on your press.This auto progressive is intolerant of a gentle hand on the first portion of the upstroke. If you run it too slow and gentle the shell plate will index in reverse. No big deal once you use it for a while and are used to the initial speed required, we're talking the first inch or so. It just a different rhythm from indexing by hand.When it does advance the shellplate there is a bit of a jerk as it locks into the next detent, like most other auto progressives I've used. You will get a few flakes of powder on the shellplate at first. I started watching it closely and made sure I was inserting the next new case as the press auto indexed into the next detent and this stopped all the spillage I was having, minor though it was.Overall I am pleased. I only loaded ~400 on it today and my "burst" speed was faster than ever before. After loading tens of thousands of rounds on this press it was kind of cool to see how much faster this one little automated step made the entire process.Not perfect, but perfectly serviceable addition to this fine press.
