I was not having feed ...

I was not having feed issues with the stock mags but wanted to convert the 1911 45acp stock 7 round mags to 8 round so I wanted 1 kit to test and it worked fine. Very easy to replace the stock spring with this kit. I test fed 230gr FMJ, 185gr Rem GS, and my 200gr SWC reloads with no issues in a SA Mil-Spec. I will be converting my other 7 round stock mags to 8 round with this kit.

I was having some feeding ...

I was having some feeding issues with my Rock Island Armory 1911 Tactical in 45 ACP. Upon doing some research, I found that it was not my beloved pistol that was malfunctioning, but rather the magazine springs in my ACT-MAGs (the type of mag which came with the gun). I ordered this conversion kit to try in one of them and once installed (a bit tough because of that awesome new spring) she was feeding 230 gr. hollow point and ball ammo without a hiccup. I ordered two Chip McCormick power mags as well in case this conversion didn't work as I use the gun for off-duty carry, but oh did it work. The magazine spring in the ACT-MAG looked quite different from the one by Chip McCormick as did the new Shooting Star follower. The Chip McCormick spring also had an extra coil that the Wolff extra spring I ordered as "Plan B" did not. A big thanks also to a buddy letting me try one of his power mags in my 1911 to prove in fact that it was capable of correcting the problem. I am now a firm believer in Chip McCormick products! I will be buying more of these in the future to get the rest of my ACT-MAGs promoted from range-only to ready for carry.
