I struggled for years ...

I struggled for years with the price one had to pay for top notch quality, but after finally breaking down and purchasing this spotting scope, it may be the best purchase I ever made. The resolution is unmatched, the size is compact, and it has such a wide range of uses.

I have used this scope ...

I have used this scope for about 6 years now. Very clear optics, and a very reliable scope. I use mine for guiding, and need to be able to judge inches at very long distances. I have been very pleased with this spotting scope. I am also impressed with how tough it is. Dropped it on the rocks countless times and it still functions as new.

I have been saving for a ...

I have been saving for a long time for this instrument and am not disappointed in the quaility. I was suprised in how fine the focus adjustments are. It takes a lot of movement to change from near to far focus. I am concerned, however, because nowhere on the scope or packaging are the words "Made in America". Am I buying an import, no matter how good the product is? [MidwayUSA note: Leupold Golden Ring products are not stamped Made in USA. If they were imported, they would have to be stamped with country of origin. Since the country of origin is the United States, there is no stamp stating that. Golden Ring products are completely machined and assembled in Leupold's Beaverton, Oregon factory.]

After struggling to see ...

After struggling to see 22 caliber holes in targets at 50 and 100 yards, I decided I needed a decent spotting scope. I compared this scope side by side to a Swarovski that was 2x the price at a local dealer. This scope was sharper, with higher contrast. Other shooters think I'm nuts for how much I paid for this, until they look through it. Then the reaction is always the same - "Wow". At 12 power, it's bright enough for my old eyes to see in moonlight with. At all settings, it has plenty of eye relief to use while wearing glasses. It's just awesome. Plus, the made in USA thing gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
