Product Information

The Olympic Arms 9mm NATO AR-15 magazine is constructed of a durable polymer with a capacity of 30 rounds. This magazine combines the mag block usually need to operate a 9mm AR-15 complete upper and magazine into one unit, eliminating the need to install a mag block into your lower. May require minor modification to work with some uppers.

It is not the easiest to ...

It is not the easiest to load but 34 rounds are possible to load if you know how..... Just slightly tap the mag on the bottom while pressing a round down the mag.... A space opens up VERY EASILY...... Then insert bullet. And yes after 20 rounds you have to do this for all the next 12 to 14 rounds depending on how full you load it.....

The most I was able to fit in one is 15 the other will only hold 14. Compared to Sten the rounds are feed in the middle without offset of doublestacks. Doesn't feed well with Olympic Upper after every second round. Feeding seem to be 1/8 to 1/4 inch to low. Tried with CMMG as well without any success. I will return this product.

These things are built ...

These things are built like a tank, however they are now where close to the 30 rounds claimed. I did manage to get 25 in my 4 mags with a huge amount of effort, sweat and the handle of my pliers. I suspect that it is not a spring problem since I can easily depress the spring all the way down with a long screw driver so the problem might be a "friction" thing with the double stacking of rounds. I'm going to try to lightly sand the inside and maybe graphite to slick it up a little. It would be a 5 star product if you could really fit 30 Rounds without breaking a digit.

Magazine feeds well but capacity is not even close to 32 rds. The most I can fit in one is 20 the other will only hold 15. I am keeping them loaded so maybe the spring will weaken up a little.

I had three of the old ...

I had three of the old converted Sten mag and bought 4 of these new polymer mags hoping they would hold 32 rds. The Mags look good and are sturdy as a rock. The poly mags fit tight in my Colt LE lower and I could not get them into my DPMS lower without sanding down the sides and back a tad. So no push button mag drops happening with these mags. The best I could get for capacity was 19 rds. I could not push rds into the mag after 15 without using a wooden dowel to push down the loaded rounds and follower to load the next round. Function was good with no malfunctions and a plus over the old steel mags... last round bolt open! I ran some bump fire through my gun and the mags seemed to have enough speed to stay with the increased rate of fire (19 rns < 3 sec). I think they probably would work for full auto. 4 stars for solid build,feed and function. Minus 1 b/c of shed capacity. Just call it a 20 rd Mag and you're good to go.

Magazines for the Oly 9mm ...

Magazines for the Oly 9mm are basically a 32 round Sten Mag with a Oly factory adapter block at the rear of the AR mag well to fill space and lock in a UN-modified Sten mag, as such they are at best, difficult to load on a good day! These mags are a Sten mag with a adapter bracket welded onto the rear of the mag-body, so while it locks in easily and feeds well it is still hard as hell to load! To make it worse the basic Sten mag has several types of loaders that are available at local gun shows etc. However by adding the fixed adapter onto it it will no longer allow use of the OEM military mag loader making it even harder and slower to load. Personally I have one of these mags that I bought to try, and while it works ok I have never had any problem with the original Oly mag adapter block that comes with the upper allowing the use of standard Sten Mags. Also a standard Sten mag can be bought even today for about 5 bucks making this a very expensive less versatile option. My personal advice would be to stick with the OEM Factory Oly Mag Adapter Block that fits at the back of a standard AR mag well and allows the use of standard non modified Sten mags and the military mag loader that works so well with them making the mags at least bearable to load in a reasonable amount of time.
