The Barnes Tipped TSX features a 100-percent copper body with rings cut into the shank. A polymer tip boosts the ballistic coefficient, improves long-range ballistics and provides fast expansion. The four razor sharp cutting petals double the bullet diameter making delivering "dead right there" performance.

These revolutionary bullets from Barnes are made of 100% copper and contain no lead. Barnes recommends initially seating bullets 0.050" off the lands. Best accuracy will be found from 0.030" to 0.070" depending on the rifle. This is not loaded ammunition.

I started loading the Barnes Triple Shock X Bullets in 2003, I was convinced it was the ultimate hunting bullet. Last year Barnes came out with the MRX Maximun Range Bullet, basiclly a long range bonded. This is the ultimate in long range bullets. Now the TTSX Tipped Triple Shock. At the same weights it's longer with a higher BC. The delrin tip prevents bullet damage when loading and unloading hunting bullets. All shoot sub MOA and retain near 100% weight. I've taken two bucks this year so far with the TTSX. It's devastating. Match quality bullets that hunt! I love these bullets.

I have a Weatherby sub MOA in 300 WM. I loaded these bullets with 80 grains of RE-22 and federal Magnum match primers. The Velocity is 3220 FPS @ 50'F. Group size at 100 yards is a 5 shot horizontal groups @ 1.25''. This was the 2nd most accurate load. The most accurate load was 78 grains of RE-22 @ 3150 FPS with circular groups 5 shots at 7/8 of an inch. Accuracy is great! Heres the meat and bones of it.....I shot 2 deer lengthways. The first deer was facing towards me and I shot him at 125 yards and hit the upper left chest missing the boiler maker. The bullet entered animal and clipped the passenger side lung then traveled to the rear of the animal and stopping in the loaded up stomach. The deer ran 75 yards and fell. There was snow on the ground and absolutely no blood trail. When I got the deer there was little blood even out of the deers mouth. Deer #2 was shot at 80 yards facing away from me. The bullet entered the driver side rear quarter of the animal traveled inside the ribcage then hit the lung. The bullet continued to the front ribcage of the animal blew through and stopped just before exiting. I recovered the bullet and it was a good mushroom with 2 pedals missing (no big deal). When we skinned the animal the rear quarter where the bullet entered showed a pinhole through the skin and massive damage to the rear quarter. The damage was severe enough that the entire quarter was given to the dogs. This deer appeared to get lifted off its feet and flopped. It did not move. The bullets work as designed (like the video) and are very accurate. The problem is if you connect with a shot that is less than desirable the bullet enters with such a small hole you can wound a deer that can run 200 yards though thick brush or further and you will loose it due to no entry wound ie no blood trail. I am over gunned for deer. I will be going to a non magnum for deer and using bonded or cup and core bullets for faster expansion. In the real world perfect shots are not always possible for this reason I would like a larger entry wound. I would recommend this to a friend who is shooting 300 WM or faster hunting open plains. In the instance of thick brush and dense timber I recommend a bullet that produced a larger entry wound for tracking.

Bought these to load in .308 Win for a deer hunt in the Condor Zone in CA. Could't get a group to shoot much better than 1.5" @ 100yds in my X-bolt. For comparison, my "standard" load of 150gr Game King SP's shoots 3/4". Both over Varget. Maybe my gun just doesn't like em, but I did notice that in the batch of Barnes bullets I received, the ballistic tip was NOTICEABLY off-center. My guess is that the tip threw the concentricity of the bullet off enough to have a very real effect. Either way, unimpressive quality control.

The second issue is that the 168gr bullets are pretty darned long. Getting enough Varget in a .308 case to send this bullet downrange at 2600fps required compressing the heck out of the charge. Even with compressing the powder as much as it would go, the COAL was still a bit over spec (which works fine for my gun, but still...). I can't remember at the moment, but I'm pretty sure I was still short of the max load per the Barnes datasheet, too. Just something to be aware of. Based on what I've read since, I'd pick the 150gr bullets if I was to do it over again.

I'm sure the bullet still would have done the job had a mulie crossed my path this fall, and I'm also an admittedly inexperienced reloader, but it's still the least impressive rifle bullet I've loaded so far.

WORKS AS ADVERTISED YET NO BLOOD TRAIL

I loaded these bullets in a 300WM 24'' Weatherby vanguard Sub MOA. I was using 2 loads of RE-22 78 grains and 80 grains (book max) The 78 grain load is 3150FPS and is the accuracy load 5 shots just under 7/8'' at 100 yards. The 80 grain load is 3220 FPS at 50'F it draws 5 shot horizontal groups at 1.25'' at 100 yards. With load #2 I shot 2 deer lengthways with this bullet between 80 and 150 yards. Deer #1 was hit in the upper passenger side traveled rear and stopped in the gut. It ran 75 yards and expired. With absolutely no blood trail. Deer #2 was shot in the driverside rear quarter traveled the entire length of the body clipped the driverside lung broke through the ribcage and stopped just before exiting the skin. This deer dropped dead in its tracks. This deer had no entry wound. The rear quarter had massive damage from rapid expansion just behind the skin. The bullet mushroomed as advertised yet lost a few pedals. (no big deal). I would reccomend these bullets to someone hunting the plains or open areas but not to folks hunting dense swamp or brush. Living in the real world means all shots cannot be perfect and in this case you want an entry wound with blood trail.

I just got back from shooting hogs with this bullet in a .308 Hog Hunter and all I can say is WOW. The knock down power is just great and the damage done was awesome. Hit the first one in the side of his neck and went clear thru and took out the opposite shoulder. Second one almost severed the neck. Accurate too. I can keep it within an inch at 100 and well within a half an inch at 50. I would highly recommend this bullet for use on almost any game in North America.

I fell in love with Barnes bullets from the first time I shot them I load 165 TTSX and 175 LRX for my .308. The accuracy I have been able to achieve with them has been better than any other factory ammo I have used. So far I have only punched holes in paper with them but will be taking them hog hunting. I look forward to seeing some one shot drops.

Awesome bullet. Grouped slightly better for me than the regular TSX in my 300 win mags. I loaded up a batch of these two weeks before hunting in Colorado and my Model 70 really liked them loaded with IMR4350 at the recommended .005 off the lands. Since it was so close to game time, I didn't get to play with the OAL but the accuracy was great. We were after elk and deer, and I ended up shooting a great old buck at about 250 yards. This bullet passed completely through both front legs and the top of the heart. 275 lb buck DRT. I will not hesitate to pull the trigger on deer or elk sized game with this bullet. Buy it. Load it. Shoot it. Hunt it. Awesome.

Used these last year on an elk hunt in Colorado. the shot was 45o yds on a 7x7 bull elk. hit the elk in the shoulder & dropped him rite where he stood. These are a must for any hunt.

Win model 70 30-06. One Colorado muley 260 yds and one cali blacktail 85yds. Both dropped on the spot, you put this in the right spot and its over complete pass thru. Very accurate with the right load.

I've been using the 168gr TTSX in my 30-06 bolt and M1 for years now to take Elk and Antelope at ranges out to 360 yards. Deadly on both. You place it properly and it does the rest. Complete pass-through with every shot. This bullet is amazing!

The best copper bullets I have ever used. Easily 0.5 MOA out of my Sako 85 in 30-06. Compared to the Lapua Naturalis bullets that I was using before, the accuracy on these is phenomenally better. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.
