Plastic Steel is an extremely hard, durable epoxy for repairing cracks, breaks and joining parts. Considered by many top gunsmiths to be the absolute best for bedding a stock due to its very hard, yet non-brittle characteristics. Available as a putty or liquid for various applications.

I've used just about every bedding compound on the market, this is hands down the best. Easiest to use, best finished product. I use it on all of my rifles as well as my customer's.

I used this product for my first bedding job. It was just enough for the one rifle, and if I had planned a bit better, would have been enough to bed the scope mount too. It was very easy to work with. I used kiwi brand neutral shoe polish as a release agent, and it worked like a charm. Couldn't have asked for better.

I just wanted to add that if you are using cooking spray for a release agent, you should pull your action out after 2-3 hours, trim any bedding compound you want removed, spread the oil over the surface again and re-seat the action. Mine was a little sticky after a couple hours and the bedding compound is hard, but still slightly flexible so it will re seat when you put the action back in.

This stuff is a little runny at first. It has the consistency of JBWeld. If you tape off everything and plug holes, you should be fine for a full bedding. I bought it to use for spot bedding or skim bedding. If you want a thicker paste consistency, just mix it in a bottle cap and wait about an hour. Then stir it. If it holds some of the stir shape after 5 minutes, then it is good to go for precise placement. It will be like a very soft putty.

A great alternative to buying the one pound containers. This kit seems to be exactly the right amount for bedding one rifle. The compound when mixed is a very dark gray/black color. It is sort of runny to work with, but no worse than other brands of bedding compounds I've used.
