Product Information

Winchester Supreme Elite PDX1 ammunition was tested by the FBI to see if it can stand up to real world, life threatening situations, this ammunition has impressive expansion and notable velocities at various ranges thanks to Winchester's proprietary bonding process. The engineers have welded together the lead core and copper jacket to obtain controlled expansion and a higher weight retention. The bonding can also take on the toughest barriers at varied ranges and velocities to simulate real world threat.

Upon impact, the jacketed hollow point initiates expansion up to 1-1/2 times the size of the original bullet diameter. The unique notching in the bullet creates six equal segments creating maximum expansion on impact. Finally, Winchester has chosen nickel plated brass to maximize reliability through smooth chambering and case ejection.

I purchased these for my Glock 21SF. They expand as advertised and the nickel plated casings make feeding better. A great bonded bullet. I usually prefer Speer and do have Speer ammo in the 185 grain, but for the 230 grain I purchased these becuase they are a little hotter loaded than the Speer in 230 grain and they are still a bonded bullet. If you are looking for a 230 grain defense round for your handgun, I highly reccomend this one. They work as advertised! They provide deep penetration and expand as they should.

love it, expansion is excellent wish i could post pic. It performs just like the black talon only the sharp pedals are not exposed and no teflon coating, expaned to approx 3/4 inch out of a 45acp 5inch barrel at 30 feet.

This is the same as the Winchester Ranger +P. I got a chrono reading of 982 fps out of a 5" Gemtech barrel, and finished off a coyote which the bullet impacted it's back and exited out the chest leaving a fist sized exit wound. I would definitely recommend this round for personal defense or for finishing off game.

I tried a few different brands and some target hand-loads through an HK 45C and these were the most accurate of the bunch (the 45C hated my handloads). Note that of all the different ammo I tested, they all performed well through my Springfield TRP and Smith 625JM. The HK's accuracy was less affected by this ammo... go figure. maybe its my shooting or the retarded sponge trigger of the HK... Good Ammo. Get some!

Excellent round that feeds well in my Springfield TRP with CMC mags. Out of 200 rounds fired had one failure to feed in the first 2 clips, however after inspecting gun one of the petals had hung on my feed ramp which was slightly rough from factory. Polished the feed ramp and have not experienced it since. Just goes to show you must completely test your defense setup or you might pay dearly!

Good ammo at a good price. Out of my 4" Kimber it was moving 850 fps. The bullet measured .73" dia after penetrating 2 milk jugs of water.

This is good ammo. They feed great in my Colt using 7 round Wilson 47 mags. Recoil is manageable and this ammo isn't too hard to find, unlike some other brands.
