I bought the Eureka ...

I bought the Eureka Timberline 4 man tent while I was in the service in 1984. Thats right, I had this very tent for 28 years. It has held up extremely well as it remains 100% serviceable in all respects. Weve been camping from Michigan to Florida and New York to Kansas. After learning the setup, which take about 3 minutes, youll be able to set it up in the dark no problem.I have treated this tent no differently than any other tent I have ever owned. If you keep it clean and dry when stored, it will last far longer than you probably expect. Now my teen age kids use it as much as I do. I was 22 when I bought it, and my son will be using it when he turns 22.

I have used this tent for ...

I have used this tent for about 35 years. No complaints. Occasionally I recoat the floor and fly. I have back packed and motorcycle camped with it, summer and winter, snow, ice, sun, and rain. It withstood many wind storms and down pours. It is not an extreme expedition tent, but it is fine for normal conditions. It is not a 4 man tent. It is really a two man tent, or better, a man and woman tent (more fun). That allows space for luggage and supplies. Better to cook under a separate fly. No see-um flies can get through my tent's screen. Perhaps the newer versions have tighter mesh. The screen on mine is very fine and durable, so I have few complaints. I suspended a cord inside between the ends, from which I hang a LED lantern, and socks and clothing to air out, etc. I recommend that you carry another plastic ground sheet to protect the floor from punctures, although the floor is rugged.

This is a great tent for the money. It is really best for two people and outstanding for one with a cot and lots of gear, but still a great tent.

I have owned two of these ...

I have owned two of these tents over the 30+ years I have been involved as a Scouting volunteer and professional. They are quite durable for their weigh, put up easily and work great as lightweight 2 man tents with spack for gear. I do not recommend for 4 people!
