This is a set of a replacement heavy-duty spring and a follower.

This set does not include the magazine extension tube itself.

If the shotgun has an extended magazine, it will use kit 976548.

I was not very happy with ...

I was not very happy with this product by scattergun tech at all. I found the spring to be very "light" duty compared to the original 870 spring which was thicker and a little stronger actually. The follower is plastic and not bad except for the following: It was in the form of a short plug, about half the size of a 2-3/4 shot shell, taking up space not to be able to load that last shell in my mag. Secondly, I liked the high bright green color of the follower to give clear visibility to see quickly no more shells, but the center has a type of pin molded sticking out a little. I'm sure this was so you can actually feel for the last shell as well, but instead of a part sticking out I don't understand why they couldn't have just kept a hollow hole to feel the mag is empty. That just takes up even more space, not to mention the part will be sticking into the crimp of your last shell which can mess up the skive. I would not recommend this for reloaders who enjoy using rolled crimps for slug or overshot cards for even buckshot pay loads, would really make the last shell pretty ugly I would think.

Purchased as a replacement for a new Remington 870 tactical 2 round extension. I was having eratic feed problems with the wimpy factory spring. Dropped this one in - problems over. I would ignore the instructions, obviously written by the corporate attorney, advising gunsmith installation - you can easily do this yourself.

This is a huge ...

This is a huge improvement over the stock Remington spring and follower. I experienced several issues where the weaker Remington stock spring got kinked in the tube and failed to feed. No longer an issue. Also, the follower is much more solid than the original thin plastic one. I highly recommend this extremely easy upgrade.
